Well done Lula Hula, you've made a fantastic start, I think we can all encourage each other to keep those motivation levels up!

Krisp, hope you are feeling better today, IBS can be a real problem, hope you get on the course too.

Mrs Monkey- you have made a fantastic start, I wouldn't worry about going through the thread slowly, I think it's important to work through it at your own pace, especially when life gets busy!

Hope everyone has a really good day xx

    Hi all

forgive me if I miss people out - am horizontal on the sofa at the moment, having migrated from the bed earlier. Currently numbing my brain with Cash in the Attic. Must summon up the energy to transfer some money around to pay for my annual railcard tomorrow.

Hula Lula - I was reading your Debt Free Diary earlier (got to November) - you are doing so well! I really admire what you're doing. I may just suscribe :)

TMVen and steph - you're doing well - keep it up!

Elantan - no worries - it's nice to have some breathing room... Hope the shifts aren't too tough?

News from the world of sickness - I've lost 7 pounds since Sunday night...not the ideal way to lose weight, but hey, I've been a little over my usual so I'll take it. Could do without the pain and daytime tv ( yes I know I could turn it off but I can't be bothered.....!).

Sorry for any mistypes and so on - iPhone has it's limitations....!

    Hi Guys,

Not been on the thread for a few days, have been thinking and stewing and concentrating on finding things to do that distract me from nipping to the shop for a 6 pack!

However, I have made a decision on one part of my wheel that has been causing me problems - finances. I've spoken to PayPlan this morning and have set up a DMP. I've been trying (and struggling) to sort out a DMP for me to self-manage since January but have now finally owned up to the fact that I just don't have enough time alongside all my other roles in life to do this. I feel a combination of relief that the debt is being taken out of my hands and I feel like I've failed which has highlighted something (other than my drinking) which is going to be affecting every other aspect of my life that I overlooked on homework 2 (or 3? :S)

I can never ask for, or receive, help without feeling like an abject failure and thinking I've let everyone down :( that hit like a bit of a bombshell! Unlike the drinking (which I'm doing really good at :)) I have NO IDEA how to improve/change this!

Krisp - I'm a diagnosed coeliac, so can identify with everything you say about your diet! I also have a problem with green cabbage, nasty stuff - but I have found that red cabbage (braised in red wine) is fine and much tastier :D! I had to give up red meat too *sob* but I still have plenty of chicken. Interestingly, I don't have a problem with rice although I don't eat potatoes out of choice. My DS, poor baby, is showing all the symptoms of it too so we're experimenting with what he can manage at the moment - still its probably better to catch it early (he's 9) rather than suffer into adulthood with crippling pains. I hope you feel better soon :) xx

Thank you true. I had no idea that green cabbage could be such a problem. I'm not showing this to my OH, who will then worry that I'm a coeliac... Bit of a hypochondriac!

As for not being able to accept help - ditto!!! I am TERRIBLE at this, although I like to think I've mellowed a bit with age on this score... Hmmm! But you've not failed. Sorting out payment arrangements is a job in itself, which is why places like Payplan exist. Well done on getting things moving! A step in the right direction!

Goodness, I'm shattered. OH is playing Call of Duty in the office. Which means I get peace and quiet and can continue to vegetate in any manner that I see fit. Although the shooting sounds are somewhat stressful...lol! And the swearing (not the game, the OH!) who keeps on getting shot!

I think I might risk a cup of coffee. And yet more water.

    Have a great evening all.

    X

Thank you NTBY! I would say I feel like I've been kicked by a horse, but since the OH reminded me that I haven't ever, and she has, I will instead say I feel like I've been hit in the stomach by a hockey ball (which I have, lol!). I'm mostly better now though. A good nights sleep and I'll be back to work tomorrow, I should think.
