lodgers having an affair - advice needed.

Odd that some posters simply can’t see that this is a very uncomfortable situation.
After long consideration of this matter, I would opt for leaving a positive pregnancy test gizmo on the shelf in the bathroom.
Good timing on your part should achieve an excellent result.0 -
If the lodgers were renting their own place what they do under their roof is their business. But they're not. They're renting rooms (separately) in someone else's home. So they owe their landlord (or landlady) some consideration.
Plenty of landlords/landladies impose conditions on tenants - no pets, no DSS, no children, no smokers. None of these conditions would be seen as unreasonable.
This landlord's condition (albeit implicit) was no couples.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Bouche you asserted that my problem was that they were married when I had repeatedly stated this was not the issue. I also stated that I would 'if possible' appreciate advance notice if they were having a partner stay. I did not say they needed to get my permission.
i'm not the only only one who has pointed out your errors in reading (or not reading) my posts. Perhaps you should pay a little more attention.0 -
They are free to have sex - just not a live in partner.0

Bouche - I feel we've made progress.0

Nothing much to add, but when I had lodgers (one at a time) I always told them that as a Christian I couldn;t tolerate sex outside marriage under my roof, so any partners could not stay over and there was to be no hanky panky in the daytime either.
No-one ever minded. I was always upfront about it before they moved in.
If it is your house you get to say what happens in it, and if people don't like it they find somewhere else to live.
