Milk is good at getting milk off as it has enzymes that work on the ink. You have to leave it soaking in it.

Milk is definitely the answer, yes rub it a bit after a while. Should come off relatively easy though.

If the milk does not work you could try a little bit of nail varnish remover to dab on the stain.

This has been asked before (ages ago) but I can't find the thread. I seem to remember milk, hairspray, one of those ink eraser pens (for fountain pens, from a stationers), nail varnish remover and as a last resort alcohol (can't remember what sort, might have been gin), what a waste :D

Before you try removing the stain try dipping a part of the top you can't see incase it strips the colour out of your top too.
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)
  • I always use hairspray on my sons white school shirts and the biro comes off immediately, so maybe its worth a try.

You could try spraying the stain with hairspray before washing it.
(The alcohol in the hairspray is the working ingredient in removing hairspray and that's why it works on biro stains on things like leather).

Caution: I haven't tried it on a jumper before! If the jumper is already spoiled and you are trying a last ditch effort to remove it before giving up, then it would be worth trying.
If you are desperate, but don't wish to take the risk of trying the hairspray, Dirt Devils do a product for biro stains (although I haven't used the Dirt Devil ranges)
