Morning all -really must update my spends in a mo :p

Well we will be nipping shopping when hubby gets home from work... MORE fruit n veg will be the bulk of it.
Still doing SW and loving it :j.... 28.5lb down in 8 weeks -only *mumble mumble* left to shift :rotfl:..... Its a little more expensive -but we are both feeling great so its worth it...
our main meals this week were/are
    • SW coq au vin -it is stunning :D
    • meatballs with spicy veg sauce
    • cheese stuffed sweet chilli burgers -my own concoction that we had yesterday and they were lovely :T
    • Jacket potato with salad and cottage cheese
    • SW caribbean Lamb
    • SW stuffed steak roll
    • fish with light cheese sauce
I think I might have finally got to grips with my "mass consumption of fruit"... I couldn't keep my hand out of the fruit bowl :o-I have now started buying fresh pineapple and honeydew and cantaloupe melons and keeping them in tubs in the fridge -I have those in between meals and it has stopped my constant munching ..and its working out no more expensive as I have stopped demolishimg at least 5kg of apples a week :rotfl:plus oranges, pears, plums etc :o ooh and as a bonus the melons are classed as Super Speed foods ;)

Right -enough waffle -I will get off...have a great day everyone...

I have failed spectacularly:( This is my first month of doing the challenge and it has really made me realise how much i spend, it is frightening no wonder we got in to debt in the first place! I drew out the £400 monthly allowance on June 2nd, and decided that rather than totting up all the receipts, i would just use this cash. I thought i was being exceedingly generous with myself as it was the first month, and it should be a doddle!! How wrong i was i have got no money left already.
I have shopped really carefully, made own bread, soup, scones etc.
My kids seem to eat for England!! Actually my son who is 22 has moved back in with his girlfriend for a few months while she tries to get a nursing job and he does his exams, and daughter, 18, has a boyfriend who lives quite a way away and ends up spending a lot of time at our house too. They just seem to go through everything at superfast rate and are always hungry. Actually as i write this i can see why i have failed, it's like feeding the 5000!!! No matter how much, i make/buy it is devoured in record time!! My lovely husband is always throwing expensive snacks in the trolley, chocolate and chesses, and i feely really like a nag when i say they are too expensive!! AAh well will have to concede defeat this month and try again next month, with greater awareness. Thank you to all the people who post on this thread i am really enjoying reading it x
  • Morning All!!

Lovelife- keep trying! I have to feed teenage hollow legged boys so I know exactly how you feel! I am forever going to the cupboard only to find someone has devoured what I need for lunch! I buy specific things for lunches now and the meal plan is on the fridge so that everyone knows whats for dinners. This means when they get hungry they can cook it!

Only thing for them to master now is portion control! DN put in enough pasta to make my dinner and three lunches yesterday evening! None gone to waste tho even if I do have to have the same thing a couple of days in a row :D

Aiming for another NSD today- will be aiming for these until friday when fruit and veg from market come into play:cool: hmmmm- it seems many days until then!

    Have a great day everyone!

PS MrsMc- no-one believes you can lose weight on SW when they see how much you can eat!! We do it in our house and I have been at target since December- the boys all love the meals so its no hardship! Enjoy it!
    June Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:
    10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8
Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A

Morning all, planning on doing some baking today and also on a NSD. Judging by the state of my annual budget I'm going to need it. Still when the money runs out, I'll just have to find a way to budget in some more for the rest of the year. Think I was being a bit over ambitious with my budget this year at £25 a week (£1300 annual) for 2 of us and I'm definately going to go over, just have to keep it down as much as possible and keep upbeat about it. Loads of stuff growing in the garden now, so that's going to help alot. I need to be inventive with my cooking to make the most of it. I feel I should have tried harder this year, but somehow I lost the plot, however all is not lost. Hope everyone else is doing ok with their budgets and for those of you battling to keep on track like me don't give up.

my name is poppy and i am a shopoholic...

went to mr t with my list with 6 things on that i needed, and left with 3 bulging bags! i have justified that i needed the things as some were on temporary offers, and also i love cooking and wanted to do some batch cooking... so much for running down the freezers but i didn't have any curry left in the freezer so could do with some...

i also treated myself to a small bag of new potatoes- i haven't had any yet this year and have been dreaming of them (yes .. really...).

    Hey all :)

A not too hot Wss here! Had my LP yesterday and helped my initial headache but feel like I have another one creeping up on me. I will need to get some coke to replace the fluid.

Only five days to go and need a load of freezer stuff so will use one of my Tesco vouchers I have had through the post. Also got my seeds for the winter so will plant them soon!

Have a good day all :)
