Hi,
I have been watching for a while and was hoping i could join in, but on a payday to payday month, which is every four weeks.
I have stupid amounts of food stored in my cupboards and in the freezer since i moved into my flat in jan, and its only me to feed, so i am hoping by maybe joining in then i may be inspired to use some of it up, i kind of need to aswell as i had a really expensive month with my brothers wedding and BF's birthday...
So if i may, can i joing and work 14th June to 12th July please? and look at £20 / week if i may.

Welcome seductive smile
i was thinking of altering my GC dates to payday start/finishes, maybe later as it would throw everything out atm but i can see how it would work well.

Aiming for NSD today- have my lunch with me- have dinner all prepared and so no need to purchase a thing!
Am going to go for a walk at lunchtime instead- that'll be lovely if the rain holds off!
Have updated sig- shame as it looked so much more promising before! :rotfl:Not much to the end of the month money wise- too much days wise! Hoping that it is still achieveable as have lots cooked in the freezer and a fairish amount of cat food in so maybe just veggies to get. Fingers crossed. Aiming to surpass my NSD's then it may be done!
Good luck to all being frugal todayJune Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A0 -

Hi everyone, had a good weekend and saved quite a bit .I went to my DD's school fete and spent a fiver but came home a fiver up as I won a bottle of single malt and sold it for a tenner to one of the stall holders as I'm not keen on scotch.:jso being a fiver up on the day, and having a £3.00 voucher to spend in Sainsbobs I took myself off there on Saturday night whilst half the world was watching footie .Got lots of bog-offs and whoopsies and in total my £20.51 bill minus £3.00 voucher = £17.51 then the fiver I was up meant that my two shopping bags full of stuff only cost me £12.51 No shopping to buy during this week at all so I am one very happy bunny at the moment Almost half way through the month already and so far so good .All the extra money that I save goes straight into the holiday account for our family holiday in August .I got my friend doing what I do with a budget for the month and sticking to it a couple of months ago, and she was really suprised at how much she had been buying without thinking about it. She is now hooked on sticking as much as possible to a budget and seeing how easy it is to 'shop' from your own storecupboards.
I have rewritten my freezer store list that I keep on the outside of my freezer yesterday and still have lots of stuff to get through as I want to defrost my freezer in July and give it a good clean out:DWe are all doing really well aren't we.
Onwards and upwards chums I think we should all take a pat on the back for our efforts.:A:A:A0 -
hi ive been to mr s today to get bananas and bread also to get some baking stuff as im making some fairy cakes
total came to £8.45. I shouldnt need anything tomorrow so im hoping for a nsd. Off to check my cakes as they are smelling lovely then to ice them in a little while ready for the kids when they come home from school
have a good day everyone.
I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -
Have been really busy over weekend and so the bread making has slipped, which meant having to go to corner shop for a couple of loaves @ £1.45 each:eek:.
There was just enough for dh packup today left so BM went on first thing. I will get back into this.
I did make a banoffee pie yesterday afternoon for dessert.
We are trying to use things up from the freezer and cupboards abit as will need the freezer room when we get the glut of tomatoes, peas and green beans from the garden (says she hopefully).
I am aslo trying to keep spending to a minimum as we have lost £20 per week tax credits following our renewal, and the only real area we can cut back on is groceries.
I will keep my annual figure as is at the moment, as if we get any extra income (qu!dco) we will use it to top up the groceries. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
I spent €74 in supermarket and €11 in butcher on Saturday and €2 seperately on fresh bread yesterday.
I got pork ribs as we were going to BBQ on Sat, but we were too shattered by the end of the day so they are now frozen for another nice day. I also got 2 lamb chops for Wed, and some liver for a weekend lunch (DH and I are both shattered, so it is good for us!!). I had picked up some 50% off whoopsies on Fri night (actually yes, it was Fri night I went to SM, and Sat morn to butchers) - 2x2 organic beef burgers, and 900g mince beef. So burgers are also frozen, while I made a batch of spag bol yesterday which went into 3 boxes to serve 2 each in freezer, a pot serving 2 for tonight, and 3 single portions I brought to my gran yesterday (she'll eat it with mash once it's "sold" to her as beef and tomato sauce, not spag bol sauce for pasta).
This week, my plan is:
Sat: Takeaway (bold us)
Sun - roast old-spot pork loin, partmentier potatoes (M&S), glazed carrots, and pureed brussels sprouts (HG and frozen months ago)
Mon: Spag bol
Tues: Quiche (on Special in M&S, have another frozen), garlic mushrooms and salad
Wed: Lamb chops
Thurs: Prawns, jar curry sauce and rice
Fri: Chicken nuggets and HM potato wedges
Sat: Risotto of some sort, possibly fish from freezer
Sun: Roast chick (M&S frozen from dine in offer this week as plans for past weekend went awry)
And I still have a good few dinners to use up in freezer, so next week ought to be low as well. Hopefully even lower as it should be just a few things - fruit, veg, milk, bread, sandwich meat and butter.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
