Just dropping in to update! Spent £97. in costco on saturday but bought lots of meat ( enough to last month) milk, juice e.t.c I always spend loads in there but it is only cos its all in bulk, it works out a million times cheaper and the stuff is such good quality like i have never found anywhere else! Spent £12 in tesco this morning on some tins and bread and toilet roll, and got OH a pot noodle and innocent smoothie as a treat ( hes never normally allowed these) cos he has spent his whole day off decorating!
Anyway have £72.33 left and three weeks, absolutely stuffed freezer, cant go wrong can i?0 -
Not spent a penny on groceries since Saturday:j so thats 4 NSD's for me. Stuck to meal plan apart from not having enough chicken for pasta tonight so used a tin of tuna and red onion and cheese in a white sauce, garlic bread with salad (the first ever mix leaves I have grown) I feel so proud, Sadly I didnt get to eat any as went out with pals instead of Thursday for a meal but will have left overs for lunch tomorrow. May have to Pay for eggs tomorrow as a friend brings them to work for me every week £2.20 per dozen they are lovely. I pass the chucks on the way to work every morning and its great to see them roaming around in their field. Anyway off to read the days posts so goodnight everyone.:)M&S 2,200.00

elizabunny wrote: »Finally achieved a completely NSD at last. Did lots of baking to fill up the cupboards a bit, a couple of Bacon, Cheese & Herb Quiches, 12 lemon and lime drizzle cupcakes, a large loaf of fennel bread and a blackberry pie. Wonder how much that lot would have cost to buy. For dinner, had one of the quiches, baked potato and some young broad beans (the first from the garden) they're still small enough to boil for a few minutes pods and all and they taste yummy like this. DH loves cake so was pleased to see the tin nice and full (wonder how he keeps so trim!!). Hope to sow some pak choi tomorrow in the garden, have been promising myself to do this since saturday and it's still waiting.
Wow! that's impressive elizabunny, well done you:T
Is there any chance you might share your lemon and lime drizzle cupcake recipe - they sound wonderful
I was made redundant in January and money is more than a little tightThe only good thing to come out of it, is that it's made me realise what a frightening amount of money I used to spend on food. I'm guessing best part of £400. There are 4 of us, myself, OH, SS and DD
I started cutting back as much as I could immediately, and I am getting better at it, but support from others trying to achieve the same goal would also make a huge difference. So was wondering if I might join in?Aug11 £193.29/£240

Hi All,
With it being payday yesterday, i went about restocking my freezer, batch cooking all the mince based items today, and all the chicken and fish based items tomorrow,
this evening i made 4 portions of shepherds pie base, 2 portions of bolognese, 4 portions of moussaka and 5 portions of chilli. Only buying carrots, aubergine, and mince to go in it, using the rest out of my store cupboards & freezer (tomatoes, kidney beans, baked beans, sweetcorn, chick peas, sliced peppers, green beans and broccoli, Chilli sauce sachet)
Tomorrow evening i will be making Chicken and veg pies, chicken curry, chinese chicken, chicken and veg soup, fish cakes, fish pie, cheesy potato pie, sausage and bean casserole, some onion gravy all for the freezer, this will use up all the fresh ingredients that need using and all the meat that was bought today. Hoping that all of this will make enough meals for me for this month as Mr Tax Man has messed up my tax and i just have enough for the bills left. fingers crossed.
Anyone know of any sweet/ cake recipes to use up a pineapple? i have so much fruit left and mum gave me a load more out of her garden today so need a little helping hand!
Thanks

Spent £161 of my £200 budget so far. Not too bad. Just need milk, veg, cheese and yoghurts.
Also included £30 of food shopping for our camping trip which i was going to class as entertainment as obviously it was more expensive stuff than we would eat at home. So i am pleased with this figure.
5 week month for me in July! Got to plan well - ot sure whether to stick with £200 and be really ecomomical or put it to about £220. Will have a think on that xOrange Fairy

hi all - didn't have my nsd yesterday as planned - ds was back late from his school trip so I took the opportunity to do my shopping yesterday! nsd's expected til monday but I doubt I will actually follow through! - I have £20 left for one and a half weeks but I am doing observations at school all day for the next 2 weeks so that should limit my spending?!
I am going to make more flapjacks - (dh takes 4 to work each day - 2 for him, 2 for his dad! ds and dd take one to school/nursery) I also need to do some cleaning - might start with the flylady again!FebGC

Well ... am very pleased with self - do I look smug?
On Saturday I sat down to create a meal plan for the week - I had one of those free magnetic ones pushed through the door and decided I should try and use it. Then I went down the freezer to see what could be utilised, either in the meals I'd planned or instead of the meals I'd planned. Armed with a subsequently very short shopping list, I spent the grand total of ... (drum roll please) £19.90 - that's on a £40 budget!
As that put me in credit on the shopping of £20.01, but less the 52p previous overspend, I emerged with £19.58 in my sweaty little donny ... and I treated myself to a dvd for £12.97 and didn't feel guilty. :T

Morning Folks!
Planning on NSD today after failing yesterday (the allure of the stardrops in wilkos being too much of a siren call).
Am having hair done later but thats a different budget- thank goodness! Have already had to pay out for two new tyres this morning- they have been waiting a couple of months so it was time... blimey where does all my money go?? In Flylady terms- decluttering the bank account- check!
yummymummy05- I have joined Flylady- am not doing toooo badly I think! Well its helped to focus the mind anyway!
Hippeechiq- welcome! come and join us- I promise you it helps and everyone is so lovely and supportive and full of ideas- and you really are never alone with any problems (such as children with hollow legs, or how to use the contents of your freezer!).
Have a fab day everyone! :TJune Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A0
