Don't understand the post, the restore partition if it's there, is accessed at boot time.

:rotfl: Well if you don't understand I am obviously talking rubbish. Just ignore it, I am probably confused along the line somewhere.

I couldn't get ctrlF11 to work. Tried switching off computer and restarting it and pressing the two keys together but just went straight to opening up windows. Obviously I was doing something wrong.

It could be that the idiot(person who 'fixed' your computer) has deleted the recovery partition.

Have you followed the instruction here?

Hold down the Ctrl key and whilst holding it down press F11. Make sure you do it at the correct time. if it doesn't work, don't worry. We have many options. Just going through them one by one.

If it doesn't work, the partition has probably been wiped, so you will need a disc from Donnie to go back to XPMC, or use your W7 disc.

It not working doesn't mean it isn't there.

Hence the word probably, which is very similar to could.;)

Either way, it's looking like they will need your disc, because Ctrl F11 isn't working

Just tried again twice but nothing happening with ctrl F11 other than going straight to windows. I am trying it by logging off and then pressing the button to restart the computer, I hope that is correct.

No need to log off. Just Start > ReStart. Just as it's restarting, follow the instruction. Of course you don't do it when you are already logged on to the computer....

Okay, tried ctrl F11 again and just got the following up on screen, haven't a clue what it is or if it is any use.

    INTERNAL HHD
    CD/DVD/CD-RW DRIVE
    ONBOARD NIC
    BIOS SET UP
    DIAGNOSTICS
