    Now downloaded all driver info from Dell to browser. Got message saying downloads complete but where do I find the downloads. They are not in my downloads folder. Sorry for being a pain in the butt with all of these questions, I just want to get this bloom Windows off my compute:mad:.

    Well try Ctrl F11, if the factory restore partition is there, and it is the original hard disk, then that should solve the problem, but you will lose all your data, so backup first.

    Forget about it...just follow my instructions as to Belarc Advisor and the Network Adapter.

    Didn't get a disc for Windows XP when I purchased laptop direct from Dell. Do have one disc but its called Microsoft Works, it came from Dell.

    Apparently what has happened to me is very common according to staff at PC World. They say unfortunately it is to people like me that it hits hardest as we don't have the knowledge to put things right ourselves and it costs us double to do so.

    Don't worry. All will be well. Should cost you nothing but time. Make sure you have a couple of blank CD-R and DVD-R handy.
