First tiny baby green chilli on the plants :) I had green chillies on my shopping list for next week, but have crossed it off now :)

Wow izzwizz that's great :D Mine have got quite a few flowers on them but no chillis yet - are you growing them in or outdoors?

In a greenhouse. I'm really shocked at how quickly they're coming on, only had the first flower last week! :)

I have a clematis which I had almost given up on. Today however it has four huge purple flowers, so I'm really pleased :j
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

Crikey, that's fantastic - maybe I should bring mine back into the conservatory, trouble is I don't know if they've been pollinated.

Was watching a black & white woodpecker bringing its baby into the garden and showing it how to feed on the peanut cage. At one point it got quite agitated in the garden when I got too close to the feeding area and it actually "buzzed" me to warn me off. I took the hint, retreated indoors with my binocculars and let them feed in peace. I often find myself having to do this at the moment with so many baby birds around.

It always makes me smile when it's sunny. I biked to work this morning, stopped on the usual bridge over the river and below me were a family of swans - Mum, Dad and 5 ish small chicks. They were basking in the early morning sunshine. Also had a walk around my garden this morning and everything looked so healthy. All my plants are new in this season and continue to do well. My cotoneaster cornubia trees are beginning to flower and attracting the odd insect here and there. Last night I noticed a bee on my Centranthus ruber so I went and sat next to it and watched whilst it went about it's business (mind you I had had a couple of real ales beforehand so was more 'jolly' than usual!!). Also, when the wind dropped last eve it turned into a wonderful evening - hot and sunny. Lovely.

  • Went to Focus today and randomly walked around the plant centre....found something I'd been after for ages, a patio fuschia 'charlie dimmock' it's absolutely blooming gorgeous when in flower. Bought a small plant and a hanging basket with them in, the last ones.
Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!

While out for a walk with OH this morning in parkland we were surrounded by a (friendly) group of young cattle, blowing gently at us through their noses. As we sat and chatted to the cows we saw a herd of fallow deer running across the lower slopes of the park in front of us. The two fawns were slower than the rest of the group and the others had to keep going back for them and rounding them up. It really was a magical moment. :)
