I ordered the special offer electric blanket with free delivery from https://www.morphyrichards.co.uk and it arrived by DHL. Also although ebuyer quotes a £15 surcharge for NI my last order went through with no surcharge and the item arrived ok.
  • We should try to get them closed down if they do this to us.

I must say i find it really annoying when you email a company for help and they reply with a pointer to the FAQ which does not answer the question you asked - its so infuriating.

Almost as infuriating (not quite tho) is when you look at an image of something for sale on a website and it says "click here for a larger image" - you click the link and you get the same image (no larger) in a new window...
I used to have a signature with links to the League Tables for good/bad shipping charges for Northern Ireland. But I have since learnt that this is against site rules - so they are no longer here! PM me if you need them

We are a wholesale supplier of Beaded handbags etc and anything over 2 KG in weight - that is, almost all our shipments - can't go by Royal Mail, far too expensive and/or not insured. So for Northern Ireland, we currently charge a fixed £21.25 which is actually subsidised by us (we pay the VAT on the carriage). This is just about the best contract rate we can get for 2 KG to 30 KG range.

So if anyone can contribute to this thread from the Trader's perpective (ie suggest better contract carriers), I'd like to hear from you!

Have you tried Citylink, they deliver very heavy orders from thedrinkshop at a fraction of the price I have been quoted from firms like drinkon who use Amtrack.

For less than £18 you can get 15 x 70cl bottles shipped using city link, Drinkon quotes £46 to deliver 6 bottles via Amtrack. Thats a heck of a difference from companies in the same field

Their site www.city-link.co.uk has been down for the past 2 hours. All I can see about them is some very variable reviews in the Google search.
