Am I the only person not to have received this? if it's a competition entry I must not have entered it, also curious as I don't use hotmail for my emails but wondered if everyone else did? or do you all have facebook accounts and liked the same page?

Just trying to look for a link.
Hopefully no one will fall for it x

If someone can track down the common site that appears to have sold on our data I would be very interested to know.

    Me too.

The company mentioned at the bottom of the page on ukgrants.eu (this is the site I was told to visit in my email) is "Caddish Rondeaux Enterprises Ltd".

The company behind them (fed-pack.com) have, in fact, been mentioned previously on moneysavingexpert

    here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2071617

    Mentioned here as well:

I have found another company named Tidal Wave Media that is registered at the same Durham address. Business Reg Info --> http://www.ukdata.com/numbers/06965788.html

I visited their website and found a post on its 'blog' that I could not believe I was reading! (link below) It appears that this 'Jason Hendricks' person is claiming to have be misrepresented in connection with these emails and the companies behind them.

    link here - http://www.tidalwavemedia.com/blog/google-home-income-scammers-now-using-my-name-to-rip-people-off.htm

It sounds believable but not when he has both companies registered to the same address.

Last thing I will be posting on this is the whois info for tidalwavemedia.com but would be interesting to find out the connection between Durham and Arizona?!

As above, for some unexplained reason there appears to be a lot of US based scammers using UK Limited Co addresses in County Durham! Very odd.

I recieved this email earlier today, and like a previous poster joined so i could comment.

The idea about the electoral registers is pretty good seen as with very little googling you can link a name with an email address, but this doesn't explain why some have been getting the fake address they use. I can totally disprove this theory by saying that i'm 17 and still recieved it.

I do sign up to alot of stuff but I never give my address and if asked for a postcode i just google it and take one off a company, so I am very suspicious of whatever happened with this.

The IP i got was from the middle of LA in the US.

    Very suspicious.

I just told my mum about it and she reckons they've traced our IPs (ironically in the same way we're all tracing IPs of senders)

For anyone thats interested, the company (Caddish Rondeaux Enterprises Ltd) has the following business information.

    CADDISH RONDEAUX ENTERPRISES LIMITED

    Telephone: 01475 072801-07757 183666

Address: 18 MILLFIELD COURT, BLACKHILL, CONSETT, COUNTY DURHAM, DH8 8TN

There seems to be a lot of UK Ltd companies all listed at that same address including some 'adult entertainment' sites:

Amazing. Id love to know how these people get away with this (this is assuming they have actually registered these companies with companies house).

Surely there is some law with regards to how many trading companies you can have under one address?

The only way I know of to have more than one company address at the same property would be to have a ltd company with different trading names. Im guessing thats how they have done it.

Still, the only link Ive seen so far is facebook. Does everyone thats posted here have facebook? with the email address they recieved the email to registered with them?

    Thanks

Whoever they are they seem to own a lot of scammy websites!

    Check out:

    http://datakitteh.org/ips/74/63/24.html

Everything from 74.63.51.129 (cashconnectonline.com) all the way down to 74.63.51.178 (fed-pack.com fed-secrets.com processing-ssl.com) appears to belong to them!
