strange e-mail

I dont think it can be related to MSE because mine asked if i still lived at an old address which I left 2 years before joining this site, or in fact,doing any competitions.

Not sure if this is anything to do with comping or just a coincidence but I work in IT (although not a proper techy myself) I am going to ask a workmate to look into this - this guy can practically find out anything even if it has bounced off kazakstan. mesapotamia etc ( I think they are called it in USA IT forensic analaysists but as usual we haven't got a fancy name in uk yet (unless geeks is suddenly trendy)

I got one too, seems for the least amount £10,041! Went straight into spam box but was concerned at them having these details. MUST have something to do with a comp we have all entered.

Alot of these scam emails seem to originate from yahoo email addresses for some reason. Just delete them and mark as spam.

I have never entered any competitions on here or any other site...as I say, if you vote and you are on the electoral register....these details are available to anyone!!! Spam it and be done with it

I received very similar this morning from anselma demick [anselmademickay803@yahoo.com] very dodgy knew my name and complete address and said i was eligible for non repayable grant of £53,330 and to go to ukgrants.eu to complete application

All my details are correct but i never use this email address for anything other than sending mail to either friends, or if i ordering online? Even this account i have on here is not registered to the email address I recieved this email from. I have 2 emails accounts, one for private personal use and another that i use when signing up to stuff because of all the spam you can sometimes get. So really confused as to how they, 1) got my name and address and, 2) that its been sent to my personal/private email address??

I have used this email addy at the following:
Virgin, Asda, TGI's, Totaljobs, Experian, Next, TVlicensing, Onlineautomotive and facebook! These are the only places ive used this email addy, i dont enter comps so obviously they have my details from one of these??
