Thanks Woo, weekend was good, how was yours?
I got a letter today from Lloyds about the credit card they declined (I wrote a long retort questioning their logic for declining me) and they've accepted me LOL - a little late now though as I've cleared the Egg card...Adam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Wow, that's interesting isn't it?
Like you say you've cleared Egg so not much use to you, other than knowing you were right!
Wonder if that could work for Woo on the card she was just declined for?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Yeah, maybe! They said I didn't meet their 'criteria' for acceptance, so I asked how my salary, plus 969 credit score and perfect credit history didn't meet their criteria? To which they replied after consideration I've now been accepted LOLAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

That is interesting, you should write back saying too late I've already taken my business elsewhere!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I would do but I want the airmiles, I get 1500 for just getting this card and another 1 for every £10 I spend on it, so will use it as a debit card to collect more.
3000 airmiles is a VERY nice holidayAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Hi,
Could I ask you a question, what kind of thing did you say to make them change their mind. I got declined for a RBS card, im despreate to move some of my debts to 0%. I have never missed a payment in my life, have a score of 988 and want to balance transfer straight to teh new card and close the other two older cards.
Thanks
I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
Cunning plan Adam - so long as you don't get carried away with the credit limit (which is probably what I would do!)0

That would be a very slippery slope for me!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I asked them how it was possible that someone in my family, who is currently unemployed, managed to take out one of their cards and yet I was declined because I didn't meet their lending criteria. Asked them what part of the criteria I didn't meet given my salary (I pay HRT), credit score 969 and perfect credit history. I asked them how, if they followed the banking lending code of conduct, it was good banking practice to lend to an unemployed person, and not someone employed with a very good income and means to easilly repay any credit.
They didn't answer any questions, just accepted me.Adam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...
