Let's make this really really simple ... You either like the idea or you don't , gimmick it may be but the only draw back is refill costs. I've simply used a drill in the ( bottom of The actual refill ) top of the unit as you have it still installed... Dont take it out
Simply inject using medicine syringe the soap of choice ( I've used pound shop stuff without problems !!) I am on my tenth refill now and I have loved it ... Not least of which people are so intrigued they use it! Encourages kids too. Even got unit cheap from home bargains. Use one in shower, kitchen and bathroom.0 -

I have now realised that you need to purchase expensive refills for them. I though I could just fill with any old liquid soap.
Please post of you find any offers on these refills.
I have managed to refill my Dettol soap dispenser with a large syringe used for dispensing medicine to my cat. It has worked successfully. You do have to clean the lense frequently to prevent the dispenser constantly dispensing after use.0 -

Why not just pop the top off and refil with a cheap soap from there? I have one of these detol automatic soap dispensers and i wondered why I kept finding soap all over the kichen worktop and we discovered one day that everytime we switch the light on and off soap comes out of the dispenser.
So we have to turn it off at night! lol lol.
:(Don't think I will be using it anymore and I wouldn't recomend it to my friends as more soap has been wasted than used!!!!!!0 -
my mum recently picked up a couple of these in her local 99p shop0

I had some that did this. I wrote to Detol and told them and they sent me postage to send them back and later refunded £10 for each one I sent making me a nice profit, so I bought the cilit bang ones instead and have had no problem0
