I have perhaps foolishly been sucked into the hype and purchased one of these dispensers from Tescos. £10.00 reduced to £6.66.
I have now realised that you need to purchase expensive refills for them. I though I could just fill with any old liquid soap.
Please post of you find any offers on these refills.

Would it not be possible for you to rinse out the dettol soap pot that fits into the dispencer and fill with a cheaper soap so that the soap pot still fits into the dettol non touch dispencer??? thats what i plan on doing but i have not yet bought the product... hope this works! x0

Simple Human make a similar automatic pump. You can re-fill with any soap you like. It is a bit pricey (£20) but is far better looking, and soap is whatever you want it to be. I've had mine for two years now and only recently just changed the batteries!0

Does it fit on the sink the space between the cold and hot taps as the detol one just fits on.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
Aren't these things just a waste of time anyway? OK, so you touch a normal one and get some germs on your hand, but you are just about to wash them anyway, and you have no reason to touch it again until next time you come to wash your hands, so what's the problem? We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

What gets me is the idea that when you have cleaned your hands, that you;d go around not touching anything-- the door handle for example. Sort of defeats the object really.
But each to their own and I am sure there are 10000s of physically disabled people who are grateful as they really don't have the skills to arrange their bathroom accordingly, nor to pick up the soap to use it (sarcasm is the lowest form of wit I know...)0 -

I have to admit, this was my first reaction when I saw this!! So glad I am not going mad.
It really winds me up that people are so worried abour everything being sterile today - I can't even buy kitchen floor wipes that are not anti-bacterial, shall probably be back to soad and water soon even though my floor is veneer. I personally think this is the reason behind all the allergies etc that are around today. You have to be exposed to some germs to be able to develop immunity! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
These are one gimmick too far. See also automatic dishwasher tablet dispenser.
Totally pointless and intended to lure people into buying them by inducing fear.
What about the tap, the hand towel, the door handle, the loo flusher, the cup, the kettle, the newspaper, the chair arm, your shoelaces, that £10 note, those coins, that dirty plate, the carpet, the shopping trolley, the dog/cat/rabbit.....etc etc etc etc
Don't touch them or you might catch something
We need to be exposed to germs to keep our immune systems 'up to date'.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
