Isn't it a bit pointless. U touch the dispenser and wash your hands anyway so the bacteria is washed away!0

by doing this i dont know if it will stop the "pressure" that makes it come out?0 -

I would like to tell you of my experience with the Dettol automatic soap dispenser. Mine developed a mind of it's own and started dispensing soap when there was nobody near it. I was beginning to think there was a ghost in the bathroom. Most of the soap ended up coagulating in a big gungy streak down the side of my sink. Also, it makes a horrible noise when it dispenses. I've binned mine. Don't waste your money.0

I think we ought to have an award for "The Years most useless Product" and this year it could certainly go to Dettol!
I have just emailed them :
"Sirs,
I am having some difficulty in understanding the purpose of your No-Touch soap dispenser.
I feel it is probably a normal action to wash your hands after touching the pump, am I right? This washing action (with your excellent soap) removes 99.9% of all bacteria which must include the bacteria that lurks on the press knob of the old style “Germy” (your word) hand pump.
Also, before washing, the average finger (or thumb) has far more bacteria per square cm than the smooth plastic top of a hand pump! So therefore, I would have thought that your device has no use whatever in the average home. However, it would certainly be useful where disability prohibits the use of a manual pump.
If you feel I have missed something then please let me know.
Regards,"
I wonder if I will get a reply?0 -
Why if the Dettol soap kills 99% of bacteria etc does a person need to worry about touching a soap dispenser dispensing soap that kills all these bacteria?. This seems to be a con to get gullible individuals to purchase an expensive system.0

:rotfl: I never thought of that! Thats another reason to add to my dislike of this obsessive product list!0 -

Not to mention the fact you're probably going to dry your hands on a germy towel anyway!
I'd just try putting ordinary soap gel in and see how it goes. It wouldn't surprise me if the special sachets are just another way of cashing in.0 -
I just give the dispenser a quick wipe with tea tree oil on a paper hankie every now again, when I remember. Anyway, as many posters have said, there are so many germs everywhere else what do a few more matter!0
