They hammered the guttering back on thinking that's ok everything should be fine ... Still need to check and see if the roof is damaged ... I am still fuming about it all to be honest

hi el - was on hold 30 mins then spoke for 10 more - got off the phone after 40 mins! Yes all now sorted - should get £450 ish back for last year and tax credits for this year. Unlikely to qualify next year if I keep my job - but if I keep my job that won't matter too much!

what is it with neighbours in this day and age. If you ask me since the government decided to nanny everyone, loads of people just swish their hands up in the air shrug their shoulders, as if to say 'hey don't ask me to step up to the mark!'
as you know i've got neighbour problems as well so you have my sympathy.

    Thanks kc I am trying

I am so fuming right now .... The neighbour next door that hates trees decided to cut onenof theirs down ... They did it themselves and pulled off our guttering in the process .... Today I looked out the window and saw they had damaged the plum tree in the front garden as well .... There is a huge limb hanging off I will need to get it cut now don't know if I can save the tree or not ....

If you cut the stump such that the water will not stand on the "wound", (i.e. vertically) then it should be OK. Trees can take damage, there's been cannon balls and all sorts found in trees over the years, what they can't take is standing water - that leads to rot.

Just make sure it is vaguely "balanced", so it doesn't pull itself over in high wind.

They had asked us a few weeks ago if they could take the plum tree down as they don't like trees ... I know it was an accident but part of me realises they are happy about it ... The bit that I am soo angry about is they didn't even have the decency of telling me ... I am soooooo angry right now

Check everything else. *Everything*. There's probably other stuff they aren't telling you about.

Take photos of *everything* - including the damage they've already done.

Hi planning to pay it off our post office CC - that together with MIL's birthday present to OH should hopefully knock about a month of our DFD.
