sorry to hear about your son, i can understand why you're worried about your son moving so often it must be hard not to be able to put down roots.

Think it all really stems from his attack last year tbh

Thanks z ( hi by the way sexy) that is a good way of putting it ... I would deff rather he kept moving than staying where he is ... It's such a shame that good council housing is thin on the ground with no hope if a 19 year old ever getting a good house ... Mrs Thatchers lasting legacy eh

Is there not a lot of private rented around your way?

Yeah there is ... He lived in two private rented ... In one the neighbours were all junkies and kept breaking his door down ... In the other the landlord wouldn't do any repairs from the day he moved in he didn't have a cooker or a washing machine that worked ... Landlord kept saying they would fix it but never did
  • There are some scummy landlords. :(

Was wondering if he could perhaps take a leaf out of mam and dad's books and maybe get a caravan somewhere?

That's a good option bob ... We did go to the site hubby and I lived in a while ago ( after the attack) to see if they had any vans he could rent ... The guy wanted hubby and I to go guarantor .... I'm not happy with that tbh ... I can guarantee my behaviour I could never guarantee another human beings however ... But there must be other sites ... Am heading home just now will take son out with me for the day and talk to him about options
  • Brill idea El- i understand your reticence but at least it stops you from being in the middle of it all. x

hey pennie i was just over on your diary lol ...

i think it has just been one of those years for us (starting from last august)

the good thing is nothing was stolen (he had nothing to steal) and no one was hurt ... bad thing is he wont live there anymore ... it seems he is destined to sofa surf for a while yet ..
  • That's rubbish when you get nothing but bad news time after time. Hopefully the second half of this year will be much better for you.

I'm sure you're son will be ok, like you say, nothing was taken, no one was hurt, he is young and will sort himself out, don't worry!

Is there a reason that you don't feel comfortable going guarantor? Or is just because you have so much going on yourselves at the moment?
