El, I know someone who had the voucher/cash offer. He said no to the voucher as a lot of the stuff had sentimental value and wouldn't just get replaced. And with the price of gold now, he went for cash with the idea of getting a couple of bits when/if gold prices drop.

Patchwork Cat, I'm in Blackpool too :D

well i am going to phone the insurance company shortly and deal with that before i have to go to bed ... i nipped up the town centre of the place i work in and had a look at jewellers ... but the truth is ... no other ring will ever replace the ones i have lost ... i think i might go with kc's suggestion and get a nice wee reminder of them and not even try to replace them ... just now i think i am too emotionally attatched to this whole thing ... for the first time since we got burgled i feel emotional about it ... i think it is the final realisation we arnt getting our stuff back ... i'm sure i will be fine after a wee cry ... just feeling kinda emotional to be honest

Had a sleep phew I needed that .... Then read my diary ... It's really good to read things back sometimes see your journey see where you have been and what u have achieved ...

Have spoken to the insurance and dealt with it all... Have decided to go with the money ... Got a bit more than I was expecting but not as much as I wouldve got if I had taken the vouchers .... I have to accept ( and I think that is why I am not going nuts totally about this issue) that I was underinsured I shouldve checked the small print but I didn't ... I am not going to replace the jewellry that was stolen from us anyway .... What I am doing is putting it towards the debt

So .... We will have a huge chunk of our debt paid and I will buy a new laptop son a new laptop get a reminder of what was taken ( I don't know what yet) maybe buy a camera ....

I have learned alot through the process good and bad ... But I think it is time for me to close this stress that has been consuming me off and start to deal with my health and debt

what an amazing day i had today ... getting back to nature and learning is so good for the soul ... just to feel the wind on your face the birds in the trees and the trees rustling ... it takes alot to beat that

my old boss that i worked for while on placement (wish she was my real boss) brought me over some willow as well so i am going to make a wigaloo eventually ... but also a screen to give more privacy for us in the garden ... hiding in the willow was a leech ... i have my first pet in years people ... yay ... so now i need to find out what leeches like (ponds i would imagine lol )

i have wanted a wee pond for a while now to try and encourage frogs toads and newts but couldnt quite talk hubby into it ... he said he thought ponds were smelly etc ... but now i have a leech i might talk him into it he he he
