I can't comment Emmzi. I am a bitter and twisted old bag who has totally given up on men - and yes! I have tried the dating site thing where I met Dumb and Dumber.

    Wah!

:rotfl: I'm off to buy a cat and a broomstick...

Seriously, though, give yourself time to grieve and get loads of hugs off your girlfriends. Come back stronger and then you'll be ready for the next one.

BIG HUG to you, honey. xxx

Went to I-Village for top tips for getting over him and they recommended Alanis Morrisette... not very MS but I think investing in I-tune of "you oughta know" is the plan....

In a few weeks time I'll do the debt free getting over him handbook.. in the olden days it was all about new clothes and I had to resist *really* strongly! I'm sure I can manage to feel better on much less that the cost of text messages etc I would normally be sending.. :p
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

If you happen to have a pick of him and a set of darts, you could try my personal method of getting over someone - failing that, try a drinking straw and paperballs..... just stick his picture to the wall and fire away!!

Gross, but effective. You wouldn't believe I am in my thirties and not fifteen, would you?
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
    LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!

Thanks Kate, can't go on dates right now anyway as my mascara is going to run right into my drink.

I think I just need to know that I'm not a complete social leper where blokes are concerned...

:grouphug: I understand completely, I have recently had my heart broken and feel the same but day by day I'm getting stronger (as you will) and one day our prince will come!!

A friend of mine, she is like my second mum is sure that if you look for it, "it" won't happen! But will he come to me whilst I am sitting in my pj's, surfing the web, eating ice cream on my sofa.

I have tried one quite famous internet site, no luck so far, cost £70 ish pounds, seem to be full of outdoor nuts, who ski every other week, who want thin, blond, non relationship types, who if they do get in touch, can't seem to committ to a couple of e-mails yet alone a relationship type of thing.

The trouble I have found with the internet thing so far is most are free but only to a point, to e-mail, or read e-mails you need to pay.

So no actual advice but I wish you so much luck, I have been single for 4 months and really want to meet a normal nice funny guy who wants some sort of relationship - you sound the same so let me know if you find the secret to it!!!!!!

Heaps and heaps of good wishes,

I went speed dating once. I consider myself to be easy going and up for most things, but I thought speed dating was horrendous. Only fun in a masochistic way.

Well I've been sat on the sofa on my own for quite a while now and I haven't heard a knock at the door.

It's been enough years since my last relationship for me to think I ought to be looking forward to the next one. There has been plenty of time to adjust to being single now I quite fancy another adjustment. It has also become clear that I might actually need to do something about it rather than sit back and wait for it to happen.

I don't think I would be brave enough to try internet dating, after all none of us like rejection do we?

To the OP: be brave, take some time to evaluate your situation but not too long! Hope you find what you are looking for. :p
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

No cost dating! Ha! What about the drinks, the food, the entertainment, the taxi fare and the last pathetic remnants of your self-respect?

Oh yes, the world is full of well intentioned advice like "just be yourself, you'll find love when you're not looking" etc, but I think you have to be proactive.
