Thanks Woo, it's getting quite frustrating, I really want to get back to normal :( I haven't been running since August, and my weightloss is stalled. Plus it just makes everything else so difficult, I've been WAH today and I really want to hoover the bedroom as I can see a massive dust bunny from my desk, but I can't lift the hoover to carry it upstairs!

    Hi Jules,

So sorry to hear about your back still giving you grief, it really doesn't sound fun at all. I really hope that you can see someone at BUPA very soon and get something done about it.

Hello Diary *blows cobwebs off keyboard*
Been AWOL since before Christmas, having a bit of a break from constantly thinking about debts. Haven't gone too mental on the spending though, need to do an update at lunchtime to get the full picture. (same can't be said for my diet, 8lb on!!!!!)
Had a lovely Christmas, really needed the break. Our work site was closed due to snow in the run up to Christmas, so wrangled a few snow days due to lack of laptop. DH had to work at home though, so he wasn't best pleased :rotfl:

Lots of lovely Christmas and birthday pressies, including loads of Debenhams vouchers, so looking forward to doing some shopping :) Also a large cheque from DH's dad, for the mortgage fund, which I have duly deposited in our ISA. I'd rather use it to clear debts faster, but DH insists it has to be saved as that's what his dad intended.

Anyway, will attempt to catch up on diaries today after my shamefully long absence. Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and New Year :D

    Hi LM

How's your back now? Did the Xmas break help?

Hey ladies :) It's nice to be back, I feel like I was going off track and letting myself slip into old habits. Just couldn't make it off the sofa to the PC and browsing for long on my phone gives me a headache!

I went to the Debenhams sales on Saturday, and got:
A lovely new purple leather handbag
2 Mantaray cardies, one grey, one terracotta
    2 longsleeved plain tops
2 vest tops, one cami for layering in the daytime, and one tunic-style one with beads and sequins at the neck for going out
1 short sleeved tee for going out, black with lots of ruching/folds.
    and a denim a-line skirt.
All for £170, so I think I did pretty well with my vouchers! I've been slowly updating my wardrobe over the last 4 months and I'm making a dedicated effort to look like I didn't get dressed in the dark :rotfl: Still need a few more basic tops etc for layers, but now have enough clothes to feel like I'm not always wearing the same ugly stuff! Plus everything I got should still be fine as I lose weight. Saw a lovely dress that I'll probably get for my sister's wedding in April, but want to try and drop a dress size before then, so will leave it for a month or so as it's the new season's range: http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_120010364262_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7EDresses Already have shoes, wrap and jewellery to match, so will just need a hat or fascinator.

Also picked up a Noah's Ark shapesorter for my nephew's christening yesterday, which went very well. He didn't cry at all, such a good baby :) Whole family was there, so had a lovely afternoon. Very busy weekend, as DH had work do on Friday so had to pick him up at 1am, then went out for best friend's birthday on Saturday, but only spent £20 :j, ended up staying up til 2am though, and had to leave for church at 10am on Sunday, so very sleepy now.

Diet officially restarts tomorrow (as it's BF's birthday today, and she's coming over for yummy tea and new Glee in high definition :j:j:beer::j) However have been trying to have sensible breakfasts and lunches since going back to work and have already lost 1lb. Plan is to keep to under 700 cals for the daytime, which gives me plenty of cals for dinner, still keeping to 1500 a day. Am going to try swimming and see how my back is, as definitely can't run or do anything that involves bending at the moment, so no yoga or aerobics possible :(

Back has been worse since before Christmas, I keep getting sudden spasms and physio has now decided that it's a bulging disc (despite having previously said it wasn't disc related?!). I'm getting a referral to a specialist to have it checked out, as it's getting worse and I want a clear diagnosis. Long car journeys over Christmas didn't help, but it's settling down again now.

    Hello Diary :)
Not much to report today, but I want to get back in the habit of posting everyday, I think it helps me keep on track! I need to be as on track as possible this month, both cars have problems since the cold weather and need to go to garage, plus insurance and tax for mine in February. DH's car is going this week as problem is more severe (no heat coming from vents, and engine overheating!!, plus arial snapped off when DH was sweeping snow off the roof), but mine needs to go as well really (DH broke the back windscreen wiper by trying to use it when it was frozen to the window :(, and the handbrake light keeps coming on)

So, to-do list for this week:
    • Ring MBNA and find out why they haven't marked my closed credit card as "settled" on my credit report
    • Make sure DH gets passport sorted out this week, as he's off for a boys skiing weekend in March (courtesy of his Dad so free!)
    • catch up on laundry and housework - make DH do anything that involves bending to avoid more back spasms!
    • put last 3 boxes up in loft so we're officially unpacked ;)
    • sort out last picture frames and put them up
    • eat healthily, and try to go for lunchtime walks
    • look for swimming costume so can start going twice a week
    • finish niece no2's birthday cardie, and start knitting for brother's baby due in Feb
    • take focus to garage on Thursday
    • look for car insurance quotes for the Ka: aim < £275!
    • send off Ka logbook to change address, and get forms for new driving license as picture expired in October (oops!)
That lot should keep me busy! :rotfl:

Plus I've got my PDP (appraisal) on Thursday, so am preparing myself that I might not like what I hear, as we have a new targets and bonus system this year and no one really understood it when we set the targets, so may be marked down on them if they weren't "stretching" enough?! I'm confident enough in the work I did, but how it's been assessed is an unknown!

We have had an email today saying that there will be payrises this year though :) (first time in 4 years!!), but the budget is only 3% for my work level, and it will depend on PDP assessment what proportion we get. Even if I got the whole 3% it's only about £700 over the year before tax!
