    Looks great but the "forum jump" now requires "go" to be pressed, wasting our moneysaving time!

    Please sort out the few remaining useless buttons/images.

    ---> lastpost.gif

    ---> firstnew.gif

    ---> sticky.gif

    ---> subscribed.png

    These icons are there to show when there are new replies, a sticky thread, a subscribed thread etc...

    As such they should be quiet prominent icons, and easily noticeable at a glance.

    The current set are next to useless in that regard.

    This is a quick and easy (and cheap) fix, as the old icons were fine, or there are gazillions of free alternatives out there.

    Yes, this is a pain, hopefully it's just something that's been overlooked, I can't see that it would be changed from one click to two deliberately.

    The code was changed last week (25-May) so that now the Go button must now be pressed every time that the forum jump is used. This change was unnecessary as previously the Go button only required clicking if the user wished to return to the board previously selected in the forum jump dropdown box.

    Old code:
    <input class="button" value="Go" type="submit">

    New code:
    <input type="submit" class="button" value="Go" />

    Previously reported here and here.

    This is not a change for the better as others have pointed out.

    Surely the previous easier to use functionality could be restored?

    If by 'browse' you mean looking through the list of boards, that could always be done previously. The difference now is that, after deciding on one and clicking on it, you then have to move the cursor back up (or down) to the 'Go' button and hit that.

    Totally agree. For lots of us, time is money, so extrapolating this small extra activity to include the billions of MoneySavingExpert users would save a huge amount of money. Just what the site is all about.
  • Is there anyway the bug regarding the reply to thread box can be fixed? Its still hanging over the edge on the right into news articles etc. Its fine on threads that have been streched due to pictures being posted but 'normal' threads the last line of smilies and the editor mode button is missing. This means adding html/img links is impossible unless you use the quick reply box then copy them to here.

    Thanks :A

    That's a no then :o

    I have to add.....I think the new design is awful. I always liked MSE's design because it wasnt like this.....which seems rather childlike and simple.

    Why fix something that was never broken? I have never understood that about some things. Someone is bored of the old look? Fair enough. I doesnt mean that it didnt work though or appeal to others.

    I can't replicate the problem as you describe it. Would you like to tell me what browser you are using, what browser version, what post you are trying to reply to? What screen resolution you are using? Send me a PM. Thank you.

    Hi MSE Ian, I am using firefox version 3.5.9. I am trying to reply to any thread. If the thread has been 'streched' by adding a picture its fine (like this one) however if its just a general thread the reply box is missing...

    Replying to a 'normal' dfw thread ~

    As you can see the editor button is missing as to are half of the smilies :o My screen resolution is 1024*768, its a standard pc, 21" screen.

    Thanks, Pap :D

    Hi MSE Ian, I am using firefox version 3.5.9.

    You version of Firefox is out of date then.

    First thing to do is update to the latest version. 3.6.3.

    It's possible that on it's own could fix the problem.
