I haven't had a chance to get on here for weeks. The cakes all look great :j. Heres two I made a few weeks ago. I thought the rugby ball was going to give me real headaches but it was ok in the end!

I thought the chocolate one was too dark, but it's what the customer wanted. She was happy with it anyway, that's the main thing.

Hi, been looking at all your wonderful cakes and cupcakes. My daughter has recently been on a novelty cake and cupcake making course and has made her first novelty cake on her own this weekend.
    I hope this works!

    Hope someone can help me!
A friend has asked for a fruit cake fir her grandfathers birthday. I have seen that you can buy these in & this is what I will probably do. But can someone tell me do I have to marzipan it then ice it? My friend doesn't like marzipan & would prefer it without.
Some help would be much appreciated!! Sponge I'm great with but not fruit!!
    Thanks all.

P.S love the princess, fab 1st cake & the Fire Engine is amazing! :0)

I help out at a mums and tots group on a thursday morning. I've not been there long, and it was a little one's birthday last week, so it was the first time I've seen the "fake cake" they have so they can light a candle and sing happy birthday to them. OMG I was so ashamed of it. It's just a dollop of play dough with glitter on it. :rotfl:

So I went to the cake shop, and bought a polystyrene cake dummy. And made them this. It's not brilliant, but it's a damn site nicer than the play dough cow pat :o

  • Awe Annie thats so lovely of you :A...only worry is at least with the 'blob' cake they wouldn't even 'want' a piece however with yours I suspect they think they will get a piece because it looks real...I'm not sure which is more cruel :o:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: I've been quickly scanning through this thread recently, trying to get inspiration for my baby girl's 6th birthday cake.
Anyhoo - was having a wee check as usual thinking, wow wish I could do the rainbow cupcakes they look gorgeous then saw Annies- & thought bless her she has tried, maybe she's looking for advice-til I scrolled down & saw Annie's "proper "cake & read the text.got the giggles. That cake looks so much better, I'm sure the nursery will be delighted.
    Booo!!!
