Right, finally found a recipe I can use, just need some advice. Its a chocolate cake from Good Food website - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4577/wedding-cake--rich-dark-chocolate-cake which looks gorgeous, but the ingredients say I need 100ml of very strong coffee?

My questions are - will this make the cake taste of coffee as not many members of my family like coffee cake?
If I miss this out of the recipe, is it going to be lacking 100ml of liquid therefore drying the cake out? If so, what could I use instead?

    Any help gratefully received :)

That is the bottom tier of the wedding cake I linked you to yesterday. It is the most heavenly chocolate cake I have ever tasted. There was no coffee taste from the cake at all - I hate coffee flavoured cake. I think the coffee just helps keep it moist. The ganache butter cream is amazing. :-)

    More fab cakes, brilliant

Once a cake is iced in fondant which is the best way to store it? Would it be ok in a plastic box or will it sweat ?

Graduation Cake looks great. I need to make one as well in few weeks for niece. I also hate working with messy black fondant

You need to store it in a cardboard box. You can pick up proper cake boxes quite cheap. The cake will sweat in a plastic box. I've made that mistake before

Hello, I've made this cake a couple of times now and it doesn't taste like coffee. It's a very rich, moist, chocolate cake. I agree with AnnieH - I think the coffee is there to give the chocolate more depth of flavour

Thinking about getting a Kenwood Kmix Food Mixer, probably the almond colour.....have been looking around to try and find the cheapest. I've found one for £240, not sure if that is a good price or not. Just after a bit advice...wondering if I should hang on and try and find one cheaper. It's still a lot of money !

That's a good price for a Kmix. I have used mine nearly every day since I got it. I love it. You won't regret it
