Thank you GOLDEN ANEMONE for the advice about the fruit cake! :0)

Love the graduation cake & the wedding night cake! Love things that are a bit different! Unfortunately I'm not skilled enough yet for such wonderful cakes!

excellent cakes everyone as always, loving the wedding cake nuttymummy, so elegant in white and black. how did you do the little flowers up the sides?

So, after having the day from hell, I'm resigned to the fact that a 3 tier cake to be made for friday is gonna be near impossible, so I'm just going to do a large cake instead. Been making my first cake topper over the last couple of nights, sugarpaste butterflies and flowers combined with little butterflies, feathers and spiral wires. I didn't realise just how difficult making these things are!! All done now and ready to go in the cake tomorrow - picture doesnt do it justice but it will look better in the cake anyway -

Thinking about getting a Kenwood Kmix Food Mixer, probably the almond colour.....have been looking around to try and find the cheapest. I've found one for £240, not sure if that is a good price or not. Just after a bit advice...wondering if I should hang on and try and find one cheaper. It's still a lot of money !

I am the same looking to treat myself but don't know wether to wait and try and see if I get a bargain.

  • Some fab cakes ladies as usual!

I am after some new cake supplies and equipment seeing as I have only just started out. Can anyone recommend any websites which sell good quality items at competitive prices?

    thanks all

What sort of things are you looking for? I've got a lot of my stuff from eBay or my local cake decorating shop.
  • Some letter cut outs, various tools. The list could go on once I start looking!
