Some letter cut outs, various tools. The list could go on once I start looking!

I'd say eBay then. Only get things as you need them though, cos it works out expensive to buy everything. I've got quite a collection now, but I have nowhere to put it all :o

and i know what u mean about cake equipment!

i have a double cupboard in my kitchen full, all the tops of the cupboards near the roof, a huge set of drawers in the back hall and stuff lying around EVERYWHERE!! lol....lots of equipment to buy...and its very expensive too! LOL

Where do you stand on imitation PME tools? I have some, and I don't have a problem with it. The quality is nowhere near as good, but for me, they do the job, and are a lot cheaper than genuine PME
  • Not only is it expensive to buy, its a case of finding the balance between want and need isn't it!

Also how do I upload photos properly? I used to do it but I can't remember for the life of me now, do I still need a photo bucket account?

Yes you need to upload photos through Photobucket. Then you'll get an code. You copy and paste that into your MSE post and voila!

This thread is nearly 2,000 posts long. Do you think we should start a new thread?

Posted this on weddings but maybe this thread is where I should have asked. I am making a truffle tower for my daughters wedding!! Similar to this..

I have searched for suggestions on making it but none so far. Has anyone got any ideas. I thought of a chocolate cake in graduated layers and then shaped to a tower by cutting the sides then sticking truffles to it, they are mostly made and in freezer. Probably will use fudge icing on outside of cake to be a base for putting truffles on. Any suggestions/help would be great. Buying a fruit cake from M&S is not an option LOL

I know i'm soo late at posting this and it's possibly not relevant now but i know a few bakers who use styrofoam the gardening type and put the truffles onto sticks to poke into the styrofoam to keep them up in a tower shape.

If you look at the front one it looks as though they have used styrofoam also (is that what it's called :rotfl::rotfl:)

Anyways how did you get on with this hunny? x

Gotta agree with this, cake wrecks is the greatest place for full on belly laughs. It's given me a great lift when things aren't going well.

As promised, the finished cake to match the topper.
    (again, sorry it's huge)
