That is great news:Twill keep everything crossed for you let me know how you get on. Have you tried youtube it is great for tutorial videos I have had lots of great lessons from there. Will post a piccie of the cake I am making on Sat. Was a little annoyed with msyself today went to Morrisons on my way home today bought some writing icing in little tubes and wanted some silver balls they did not have any so had to go to Asda when I got there they had the same icing but glittery :eek:ooh I could of kicked myself lol. Going to have a little lookie on youtube now to see if it shows you how to make figureines.

I see some glitterly food dust in the cake shop and i was very close to buying the whole stand. Until i read its inedible :(

I do look on youtube sometimes, i see how to make a rose so im going to try that once my icing gets here.

I think i might buy some play-doh to practice making things so i dont waste the roll out icing :)

I'm making a cake for my boyfriends birthday on Thursday, (i'll be making it Wednesday) and it will just be a simple cake victoria sponge with butter icing and jame in the middle with ready made white icing over the top with Happy Birthday and smarties dottted all over it.
    My questions are:
you know the cakes you buy in Asda? there so delicious and have a very unique taste, i was wondering if anyone knows how they do this? had anyone got a good recipe for a fluffy victoria sponge? :) any tips? xxx

I'm afraid I can't help with a fluffy sponge as I love maderia cake and make all of my cakes out of that as I think it's easier to cave but just wanted to say :hello: and welcome to the thread
