I got some colour paste and used a brush and painted two big stripes on the inside of the icing bag, put the icing in and then it comes out.

The buttercream was very thick though so didn't go on as well as i would of liked it to.

I just bought some more eggs and butter so am going to be making more cupcakes at some point :D

I would love to go to a cake decorating class, but i cant find any in Portsmouth :(

What a clever idea neve thought of that did you mkae your own buttercream with butter and icining sugar :p I would love to do cake decorating am looking to see if I cn find a night class somewhere in my area.

Hi , I'm loving this thread all the cakes are wonderful. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was an alternative to confectioners glaze, I am currently making my sisters 21st birthday cake and would love to use it but can't find any locally and fear ive left it too late to order of the internet.

Ah thats a shame its always the way how far is it from your house? I called into a local cake shop to look at the decorations they sell whilst I was in there I asked if they knew any courses they have some in my local college so going to call them to see if any spaces are available (keeping fingers and toes crossed):rotfl:What quantites did you use.

Hi I was wondering where you get your cupcake cases from. They look slightly bigger than the normal wee fairy cake cases you get. Ive been trying to find plain proper cupcake size cases for ages!
