Ah thats a shame its always the way how far is it from your house? I called into a local cake shop to look at the decorations they sell whilst I was in there I asked if they knew any courses they have some in my local college so going to call them to see if any spaces are available (keeping fingers and toes crossed):rotfl:What quantites did you use.

Its about a 30 minute bus ride, but im also (hopefully) doing another course at the local college. In Midwifery not cake decorating. So i dont think i'd find the time :o

The intructions said 75g butter and 175g icing sugar. So i halved the 75g butter into the trex and lurpack, and kind of went from there.

Went into the cake shop yesterday and bought some blue and some yellow colour paste and some more large icing bags.

Also, i purchased this yesterday. http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/DESSERTS/CASE_PRICE_Dr_Oetker_Super_Cook_Regallce_Icing_6_x_1kg
Its 6 cases for £1.49! I also got some stuff from this bit aswell:
    http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/BAKING_INGREDIENTS
    and
    http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/BAKING_DECORATION

Its past its best before date, but not past the use by date.

I got 24 of the ready to roll icings.

    dawny - thats great!

lolly - love yours too! wee tip though turn it upside down before decorating and you will get sharper edges, hope no offence caused!

am doing a difficult cake for friday - 3d cake of a dressthe girl wore for her graduation - its going to end up about 14 inches tall of 6 layers of chocolate cake seperated by white choc buttercream. so have to carve into a mannequin shape then cover, dont know if i'll be able to pull it off though. if not it will just have to be a "flat" cake, will let you know!

Ah, they were various food colourings. I got a 12 pack of blue for 99p. They must of run out.

I think the use by date is this month, but someone on the mse paretns thread makes cakes and she said its fine to use. She has ordered some to :D

I went for my college interview for the midwifery course and i think i pretty much got on. So no harrasing the local college for a cake making class.

I was wondering if enough people were interested our local cake shop would run a course. The lady in there does cake decorating :)

My next aim, make roses out of icing. I've been looking at a few and im going to try it :D
