I would love to make some frog cake pops for my adult daughter's birthday. She collects frogs (not real ones though!) and I'm sure she would love these. She's having a party/BBQ on Bank Holiday Monday and I'd like to impress her friends :rotfl:

How many packs of Candy Melts would I need to make about 20 - 24 cake pops please? Hopefully I will be able to get to my nearest Hobbycraft to get some this week (it's miles away) as there won't be time now for me to order online.

Hi, the recipe is from the Hummingbird Bakery's "cupcakes And Muffins" cookbook. I just googles to see if it was posted online and it is :)http://www.flickr.com/photos/25655125@N04/3588111539/

I find that a pack of candy melts covers just about 24 cake pops, so if you only buy one pack, you may be cutting it a bit fine. Should be ok though, but there'll be no margin for error. HTH x

AnnieH, massive congrats on the cake sale, sounds like everything went down a storm, seriously gonna have to try those ice cream cone cakes next time!!

Pink Mummy, I've just bought a wilton 1M nozzle, its what I did the cupcakes with a few pages back, really easy to use and clean. Best nozzle I've bought.

So, after the disappointment of last week firmly behind me, I've been concentrating on the giant cupcake for tomorrow. Thanks Babyfreckles for the recipe, its much better this time, I'm really impressed. Only trouble spot I had was I didnt butter the mould enough and the cake got stuck on one side, which has ruined the look. Therefore, have covered the whole thing in vanilla frosting and giant chocolate buttons!!! the pics below show the cake in 2 halves as I haven't got a cake carrier deep enough to put the finished article in. Will take a couple of pics tomorrow once its assembled.

Wow more fab cakes! I am going to buy a giant cupcake mould and was wondering if anyone could advise me on which one is best, I have seen silicone ones and also the wilton metal pans, all help gratefully received!

9 pineapple rings between 12 cupcakes.... seems a lot, they must have a lot of pineapple in each one. Would not mind having a go at making these for the christening on Sunday.
