I'm sorry I haven't replied before, I have been away for my Mum's birthday. I will post the finished cake in a mo.
I have the silicone giant cupcake mould and just make 2 X 4,4,4,2 sponge mixes. The base part of the mould has a mark on the inside to fill to and I find that 1 mix does this. The top doesn't have a marker but I am finding that 2/3 (ish)of the second mix is enough. Sorry it's not very precise!SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

The complete cake finished! I was really pleased with it. You can see it better if you click on it and enlarge it.

I was going to do a standard two tier cake but was ill the week I was supposed to be making it. I then decided to buy a stand and make a cupcake tower with slicing cake on top. The cupcakes follow the decoration and colour scheme of the top cake. Told Mum she was a very trendy 80 year old lol.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Hi
The cake looks lovely did you make your own flowers and what did you put underneath the flowers on the top cake. Did you pipe around the edge of the two cakes ionsdie when you sandwiched them together with buttercream? I have trouble with ime cos you can always see a indent where the top sits on the bottom around the edges.
Sorry so many questions0 -

The way to avoid the indent og the 2 cakes sandwiched together when you decorate them with sugarpaste, is to put a payer of buttercream all over the cake, and straighten the edges with a pallette knife or straight edge. Let that dry, and then roll your sgarpaste onto it. Then you don't get that line where you can see the join.0 -
