Ok, I did all the lists bar the kitchen as I spent a couple of hours clearing the mess up in the back garden and filling the recycling bin to the top ready to be collected.

    Potted on 27 beetroot seedlings

4 lots of washing on the line dried and ready to iron or put away

Thats all for me this week and I'm off the a bath now as a treat to get clean

Hi all! It's been a lovely sunny but a bit windy day today so washing dried nicely outside :) Did a Mr. A shop and went mad in the bathroom before I watched the Grand Prix, then did a bit of cross stitch.

Toots - no help I'm afraid but I also have a mad year of birthdays next year. I'll be 40 which means several friends will too, and it's my mum's 70th!

vanilla - great news! My mum lost her engagement ring many years ago and it was found in the grill at the back of my Aunty's fridge when she moved about 20 years later!

Off to watch Going Postal now :D

    Hi everyone
Haven't caught up, had my mum visiting for the weekend so we've packed her off home with a car full of things from here which we won't need for two weeks. She took me clothes and food shopping which was very nice!

    I have:
decluttered 4 large boxes of shoes books dvds and uni work, 2 large vacuum pack bags of clothes and spare bedding/ towels, 1 picnic hamper, 1 tea set, pair of walking boots, 2 cacti, 1 wardrobe, 1 set of drawers and a dartboard all home with mum

vacuumed with her good vacuum that she brought down

    changed the bedding

defuzzed the sofa with a fabric shaver

    bought cleaning supplies

bought paint for the bit of wall I've marked

    organised all of my paperwork

watched the films for my french cinema exam

mealplanned for the next two weeks so we use up everything

Glad to see you are home Toots, take it easy!

    Love and hugs to everyone
    xx

practice is the NOUN practise is the verb but my method for remembering which is which is to use advice ie Citizen's Advice Bureau - noun and advise - ie I advise you to vacuum your room NOW young man because they are pronounced differently...

Practice is used as a verb and a noun in English; practise is the American spelling of the verb :) I never use practise :p

Practise is also the american spelling of the noun... trust me... I have to write american (using Websters as my reference...) every bl**dy day at work and it gets to me...

To quote Fowler's Modern English Usage (just so we're clear this is properly researched ;)) 1996 edition

practice, practise. In standard BrE, practice is invariably used for the noun and practise for the verb. In AmE practice is the dominant spelling of both noun and verb; but practise is also used by some writers for both parts of speech

Valli is correct, or is it like Myriad and "Myriad of" that the jury is out??

I take it all back trust me to disagree with a teacher :( I still won't be using practise any time soon, though, so there :p :rotfl:
