Right, time to start again. Starting at 149lbs, want to get down to 115lbs by the time I go to New York at the end of August, which is around 1lb a week. I'm right right right at the top of normal on the bmi charts, this will get me down to halfway between the mid point and the bottom of normal so I think its a reasonable goal. Now to find that willpower I once had. I think its hidding in the cupboard eating cheese and crackers and laughing at my futile attempts to fit into my clothes again right now.

Crikey Dinah, are you 3" tall - that's a tiny target!

Biggest Loser USA really inspired me and I here a Biggest Loser is starting over here next week, so that will be interesting. However, Davina McCall is hosting it so I may turn off pdq :D
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Started off the day by swapping the batteries in the scale, and i am not overly impressed by the results. I am quite glad i was put off eating so much over Christmas because i could have been so much worse than i am.

First Aim - lose half a stone in January. I'm walking around with ankle weights on today, and i am not going to be snacking at all.

Would someone like to start a new MFW 2011 weight loss thread?
I have been very slow to update this thread and it's such a shame as so many of you are doing so well.

Aye I like the lbs system, makes it seem easier to hit the next goal. I've drawn a huge 3ft wallchart on the back of a christmas present box, like they do for church roof funds. Every time I loose a pound I'll get the satisfaction of colouring a huge square in red.

  • Ooohhh, ankle weights - what a good idea. I've got some of those tucked away somewhere - mind you, I'll have to de-clutter the house to find them...

Mine are argos cheapie jobbies and they can't be seen under my jeans and are 2.5 Ib each. Last time i wore them all day every day i lost a 1IB per week for about 5 weeks before i stopped doing it. I wore them on the way to school. Really, i should wear them for some exercise.

I'm sure they could be disguised under some work trousers, and i think you can get lighter ones which would be thinner.

    3 cheers for Dansmum!

ETA: Thinking more on the ankle weights, I wear quite big boots they'd probably hide inside too on the days I'm not wearing my one pair of trousers!
