I think I will have to investigate that, thanks Jody xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I know 10p a day doesn't sound like a lot but I have had quite a lot of 20p's, some 50p's and now two lots of £5
.
I phoned the savings people, apparently they have sent me a pack but they gave me the details anyway. The surrender value of the plan is £589.53 which is considerably less than I paid in BUT it's just not worth leaving it there, even the lady who was trying to convince me to stay couldn't argue with me as she had to admit the returns were dire! They are going to send me out a surrender pack today so hopefully the money will be in my account within 2-3 weeks. I am going to pay off Centre Parcs balance of £135, put £100 aside as spending money for DD when we go and the rest can go in my savings for time being. Once I am debt freeeeeeee I can work out what I want to do in regards to her long term savings.
On a totally seperate note....
Some time ago whilst daydreaming I came up with a little business idea, just happened to mention it to someone at work today and they thought it was a really good idea! Then I mentioned it to someone else who also thought it was a good idea
. Obviously I haven't thought about it in any real depth but it could potentially work quite well if done the right way. I don't want to say too much on a public forum in case any steals my idea
but I will shortly be preapring a few paragraphs about it (should I ever want to/be able to take it further), if any of my regulars would like to see it and comment on it in the name of research/general nosey-ness then let me know.

Sounds like a sensible choice regarding your savings plan and your putting it to good use.
I would be interesting in hearing your ideas Jody, I promise not to steal them lol!
I have just realised that I had started reading your diary from the start, I think I got to page 5 and obviously forgot I had started it as I have been posting anyway. Will save the rest for a rainy day maybe lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Jody, seems like you have thought everything through properly regarding your debts and the savings you had aside for your daughter.
You have your sensible head on, which I might need to borrow to curb my current spending!!!
Ireland sounds fab, I read all the way through that particular discussion although didn't comment as that wizzed past so quick that when I went to post the discussion had moved on and my points weren't relevant anymore :rotfl:
Am I a regular (love it!)?! I'd like to see, I have time on my hands for advice, noseyness and research but no time for stealing ideas!

I've typed some bits out into a Word doc, it's only a very initial outline but I would welcome feedback, positive and negative of course as to what people think.

Thanks for the replies ladies, I am still digesting the suggestions and comments!
I would be grateful if you could maybe mention it to your friends etc to see whether they think they would use something like it? After all, it's customers that make or break it!
