    Hi Jody

I will also be here to support you all the way with your goals.

Well done for being so honest with yourself and thinking about the changes you want to make in your life. It's never too late, every minute of the day is a new opportunity to make changes.

Thank you very much for your supportive comments. I think I get more support on here than I do from my friends!

Using my phone at college so can't type a big reply but just been for a brisk walk round the block and am tucking into grapes and melon! Managed to go without a tea at break so am determined to make a good start today. My psoriasis is very much affected by stress so less weight, better sleep and a calmer state of mind would be a big boost.

Wow Jody, you're very inspiring at the moment, saving loads to pay your debts and making commitments to big lifestyle changes. :T I find it hard to think about how overweight I am (very!) and I'm often shocked by photos of myself :(. It's hard to admit to, but you've done that already, and all the rest just comes down to keeping momentum :) I bet you can do it, you've already done so well with savings etc.

I'd echo the advice about getting checked out by the GP regarding PCOS, as some treatments may be available which will make it easier to lose weight (i have hypothyroidism, used to gain weight if it was out of balance, much easier to lose weight when it's in balance, but have to have it checked regularly)

I'm also avoiding the dentist, but I think i'm going to have to go soon. *cries* Must look for an NHS dentist in new town.....

I know I said a quick thanks earlier but I just wanted to say thank you again, it's great having support from people as lovely as yourselves. I don't think any of the changes are going to be quick or easy but the fact that I know I need to change is the first step over and done with. I feel like I am realising that only I have the ability to make things better and I can't keep waiting for something or someone else to put these things right, it's only me that can do that.

Today has been a fairly good start overall, I actually thought about what I was taking to college for lunch today and took a moment to look at the calories, sugar and fat content, normally I would just chuck stuff in my bag and eat it :o. It's so hard to get a really good balance but I ate my melon and grapes and a banana and the only 'naughty' thing I had was a digestive biscuit bar and I didn't eat my cereal bar as I decided that was too many carbs. Had a muller Bio yoghurt when I got home, yum! Think OH is doing sweet and sour chicken tonight with veg and rice so that's not too bad for dinner. Even though it was drizzling I made myself do a swift 15 minute walk round the block at lunch. Last time I was at college I was telling the vending machine to put 2 extra sugars in my tea, today I only asked for one. Becs you are right, it tastes odd to start with but I seem to be getting used to it already.

I've always been a yes and tomorrow person as in, do you want a biscuit?...yes and shall we go for a walk?.....tomorrow :rotfl:. I always put off whatever I can including housework and college stuff then I get stressed at the last minute. When I got home from college I did the washing up and put a load of washing on so I don't have to get stressed about doing it later :).

On a positive money note, I logged into Quidco and they have recieved my Npower £45 cash back :j. Looks like it is due to be paid while I am in Ireland so with that and the 20p's my mum gave me I have almost covered my share of the B&B costs :D.

Hi Jody, I'm nearly there. I'm into September now but need to have a break, time to eat (despite being ill, I still want food) and I've been on the computer (laptop in bed) most of the day.

It's been great reading so far, it's funny how much you have in common with people. I did babysitting and worked in a gym and on the bar, so second and third jobs when I was debt busting the first time. Sometimes you get so tired, but it is a wonderful feeling when it is all finally cleared.

You seem to have the travel bug in quite a big way too, it will be great when we can plan and pay in advance for holidays rather than hitting the credit card. I've dived in Egypt and the Caribbean, I do like it but I'm quite a nervous diver, don't think it helped that someone dived after a boat dive I did once. OH doesn't dive either, so I haven't dived for 6 years now.

It is difficult keeping up with diaries when I'm at work but they're all so inspiring. Right, my lovely OH has been a fantastic nurse today and has got tea ready. Will finish reading and catch you later.

That was an amazing read Jody, especially your last post. I think focusing on reducing debt makes you closely inspect at all the other areas of your life too. I need to lose weight, I'm doing weightwatchers and like the debt have done it once but got complacent, for me the other big thing is to try and improve my work life balance. I know its been a difficult few months with father in law so ill but I'm sure working constantly has taken its toll and thats why I'm ill now.

It sounds like your OH is wonderful, go and have a wonderful break in Ireland, it will do you the world of good then come back rested (probably a bit emotionally) and with renewed vigour. You're doing so well, I love catching up with Woowoo's diary and seeing how she attacks her debt and I will be checking yours from now on (workload permitting - as you said, sometimes so much happens in some diaries). I think I'm going to just stick to the few I'm already involved in, quality not quantity.

Don't beat yourself up too much (and so you know you're not alone, I'm really impatient!)

    Morning Jody

Day two of the sugar reduction!

Hope your feeling positive and maybe even a little excited about your future.

    Is Ireland next weekend?

Thanks RP! I tried to reply to your earlier post last night but when I hit the reply button it said the forum was having technical issues! I am a nervous diver too which was why I ended up with only a Scuba Diver cert rather than my Open Water, my OH doesn't have any interest in diving so I try to find holiday destinations that we can snorkel in but I can do the odd dive too....isn't the Maldives just perfect for that ;).

Morning Woo! Everyone in the office looked at my funny when I removed the giant cup and replaced it with my father christmas mug and held it aloft while saying 'I now have one and a little bit of sugar' :rotfl:. I think I had 9 cups of tea yesterday, still a lot but better than my average of 12+ :o.

Yep, Ireland next Saturday, I need to get all my bits and bobs printed off this week ready and do my online check in.

I also got £5 on my daily scratchy this morning :j, now have just over £17 in there which is awesome! Still waiting for the parcel from M&M, called them this morning as it's now the 8th working day since I ordered and they aren't really sure why the courier hasn't delivered it :(, she did say that if the courier has lost it they will send a replacement overnight and I will get it tomorrow so that's not too bad :D. My Panto tickets came yesterday too :T.

Not heard from the savings people so about to give them a ring as it's been almost 2 weeks

Have a good day my lovelies!

You not heard of them Woo?

I do mine on Butlins Bingo but I think all of the St Minver bingo sites have a free daily scratchy. You set up an account, deposit £10 then you can do the daily free card - on Butlins it's a minimum of 10p a day and you can do 2 on Sundays. When I joined you could deposit the £10, play a free card and then withdraw your deposit, the account just needs a minimal balance for you to do the card.

I think they have tightened up a bit since I joined up but it might be worth checking it out? I just log in every morning do my free scrachy and log off, I think I have had about £30 out of it this year :)
