Thanks peeps! I still feel a little bad but will do some ebaying etc to try and make up some money, that should help :).

Managed to get car parking at the airport and flights booked last night, I also have OH's credit card to book the car and hotel with at some point soon. My mum reckons she has a diddy cabin suitcase so will hopefully be able to borrow that. Been umming and arring about whether to do room only or pay a bit extra for B&B, I think it works out an extra £6.50 each for breakfast, just thinking that if we have a big fry up every morning we will probably have just a sandwich or something for lunch so it may work out cheaper. The B&B I have my eye on can also provide a fridge so I am already planning on a supermarket visit for some snacks/refreshments (that's the MSE part of me ;)).

I am very excited, I think OH will love Ireland, he is a big fan of trees and nature so it should be right up his street.

    Happy thursday!

    Happy Thursday Jody!

I think a big breakfast will help set you up for the day and it also makes you feel like your on holiday x

That's what I was thinking! Managed to book the hire car this morning, eventually did it through economy car hire who are recommend by Martin himself. Although it looks more expensive than booking direct with the agent it includes a free additional driver, the excess waiver insurance and the airport fee (I think - it does say all charges and I couldnt see it being excluded in the terms) so it actually worked out cheaper. :)

Put a message on the trip advisor forums and someone has give me a link to an adventure type site, they run kayaking trips in the bay where the dolphin lives. I would be well up for that but think OH's fear of water would put paid to him having a go. Still looking at accomodation, think all the last minute deals will come up next week so probably better to book then :D

    Afternoon all!

I almost physically assualted my OH this morning after he moaned about me leaving a sausage on a plate from last nights dinner . In hindsight it's mildly amusing but it wasn't at 8am! He has apparently bought me some presents to apologise but I don't know what they are yet.

I booked our B&B :T. Had been keeping an eye on the B&B network and one was running a special offer so I emailed for availability and the lady replied within an hour :), it's E55 a night which is around £48 but that includes full breakfast for both of us and it has free wifi and parking and is only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. It has good reviews on Trip Advisor as well. So I think we are pretty much sorted now, I booked some travel insurance last night, a whole £5 for the trip and I have some cash back coming :rotfl:.

Got 20p on scratchy today and am working tomorrow night so that will be some extra pennies. Just waiting to hear if the B&B owner wants me to pay in advance or in cash when we get there so I can order some spending money. It's two weeks tomorrow :j

Well today didn't turn out so bad! Just had confirmation of our B&B booking and we can pay in cash when we get there, at least that means we wont get stung on conversion rate by the bank if we use the card :). Only slight issue is that their check in time is 3-6pm and we don't land until 5.05pm, then we have to pick up the hire car and drive to Killarney (but it's only 10 minutes from the airport) so we should be there in time but I have let the landlady know so hopefully it wont be a problem.

Went to mums after work as per usual on a friday, she gave me a tupperware tub with loads of 20p's! I knew there was quite a lot and didn't want to take it but she insisted I have it so we can have a drink on her while we are away...there was £22 in there :D. Then OH turned up there which was a nice surprise and he gave me a scratchcard he won £5 on and when I got home he had bought me the new Essential 90's R&B CD :T, I was a huge R&B fan at the end of the 90's and all the tracks are right up my street so I'm looking forward to getting that in the car.

It's been raining here ALL day but I guess I should get used to it.....I expect that's what Ireland will be like the whole time we are there :rotfl:
