Do any of my MSE diary buddies have much success with boosting clubcard points? I quite fancy a few days in Vegas next year and you can use clubcard rewards with Virgin so it would be great if we could get sufficient points to make it very cheap for us!!!
I have been reading the threads but can't seem to find any obvious pointers, any tips would be great

I did this at the beginning of the year, bought the mobile phones on offer plus got loads of extra clubcard points. Resold them on ebay, made appr. £40 loss on 5 phones. Exchanged the vouchers when they still gave you double airmiles and booked our ticket to Hungary for Easter. Tickets otherwise were appr. £280 for the 2 of us, but we got them for £40. And it was BA not easyjet or wizzair. Since than I haven't done much to be honest but I already have appr. 1300 airmiles, 200 more to go and we're going to Paris on Eurostar next year. I concentrated on airmiles, introducing friends for credit card also gave me 200 extra each time/plus I use my credit card for all shopping and pay it back every month (appr. 50-60 miles per month), plus OH use my shell card for company card meaning we get some airmiles as well. So far I travelled 3 times using airmiles
.
I let you know if a really good offer is on with tesco clubcard points, i don't usually bother if they only offer 500 points extra and you know that you will make a definite loss on reselling items.0 -
I have seen a few of the extra 500 points offers but nothing more than that. My mum is now collecting points for me but I still only have about £30 of points (so £120 in rewards
). Air miles might be another one to consider instead thinking about it as I have read that Virgin flights to Vegas are a bit naff :rotfl:

I know, at the moment it's always 500 extra. It's still worth it if you're very keen but when they give you a 1000extra than you can keep up with the numbers easily:).
I wouldn't mind naff Virgin flights to Vegas.

I convert my club card points to airmiles. I have about 1,500 miles at the moment, with another 1,500 I think coming if I get my recent Lloyds credit card application acceptedSee here for the offer: http://www.airmiles.co.uk/collect/lloydstsb/lloydstsb-airmiles-duo?affiliateid=Airmiles1500&WT.mcid=Air0510WCO&from=collectoffers&banner=ltsbacq&pers=false

With the Lloyds offer, I had to spend the 1500 miles for one flight and couldn't add any more to it, only towards the hotel so the destinations are limited. But it's still a good offer, we only booked one night accomodation for one single room and it was only £12
. Very MSE.

I definately think the clubcard points are the way to go, whether that's using it with someone like Virgin or converting to airmiles (not too sure which yet). OH spends about £300 a month on fuel in his van and has just told me he can use supermarkets , obviously he has been told in no uncertain terms to fill at Tesco and get me points :rotfl:.
Took yesterday off and did NOTHING, I am quite ashamed of what little I actually did but it was quite nice. Didn't go to bed till 3am and I was cooking chicken and garlic bread at 2am. My poor OH is not happy, he tinkered a lot with computers in the past and now everyone expects him to sort out any/all of their PC issues (his family really take the mickey actually!) and he brought his mums home last night to do all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff to it. He just got it all working when one of the new parts failed so he is very stressed, I've told him to tell them all that he just isnt doing it anymore but I think he feels bad
.
Did a few surveys this morning after slacking so much recently, daily scratchy done and I also took a £10 Amazon voucher from VO and used it to buy a 'Sequin Art' craft type thing to put away for Xmas, they retail locally at about £16 so after the voucher I paid £2.20 :T. When my mum went to Vegas she brought me back a savings tin, unfortunately the coin hole is too small for £1 coins but 50 pence pieces fit perfectly - it is now my Vegas travel fund!!
Just about to change water in my fish tank and have some washing on already, might do some ironing and then I am going to relax in a nice bath. Almost forgot that I found a scratchcard on the table yesterday that was a £10 winner, it was obviously OH's but he has given it to me! Saw my mum last night and she apologised for not getting me some flowers to celebrate passing my exams
, told her that OH had promised me some so not to worry but she was welcome to add a few 50p's to my Vegas savings tin instead if she would like :rotfl:. (She hasn't yet but said she will!)
Anyways, I'm off, hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend

Worked last night...it was sooooo busy and we ran completely out of change, some woman was really rude to me  and it took so long to get everyone out of the door. It was my longest ever shift and I am feeling it today
, also doing 2-6 today, MUST think of the money.
Need to do some ironing tonight but think it will be home from work, shower and slouch until dinner time. I'm getting too old for all these being on my feet for 8 hours plus :rotfl:. Talked OH out of booking a hotel for a friends wedding, I just can't justify the money for a gift, petrol money and a hotel stay so we will be driving there and back.
Think the pub is going to be busy again today, just hope my 4 hours goes quickly. Whilst I don't mind doing my one weekly shift, I don't think I will be volunteering for extra shifts once my debt is paid off, I've come to realise how much my free time means to me!!

Will you need to do any shifts in the pub once the debt is paid off?
Thought the pub was purely for extra money so once your debt is gone, then that job is no longer needed and you'll have plenty of time to yourself :beer:VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
That's a good point, it really depends how much my payrise is in November. I could give the pub up once the debt is paid off as my DMP payment is £245 so I would be 'up' by that amount straight away, the problem is that I would kind of like to do the pub for a bit longer to help pay for a few trips away I would like to do and get some savings together.
I don't mind doing one shift a week at the moment, it's just the extra hours that are doing me in. I will have to have a long/hard think about it once I've paid everything off and see how it goes. There was talk at work last week of them paying 25% of our year end bonus in June (rather than it all being in Dec which is when we normally get it) and the rest in Dec which would really suit my travel plans but it's just a maybe at the moment.
