You've done so well on your savings, you've added nearly £300 in no time! I wish I could bump my savings up that much!

Well done Jody! :j That's a brilliant total!

Well done on resisting the Thai food as well. I'm quite jealous that your canteen has food you'd consider eating :rotfl: ours is so dire that every time I've eaten there, it's put me off eating whatever I have for some time. (think moussaka where the potatoes are a bit cruncy, pasta and sauce that's all greasy and watery at the same time )
Thank goodness we also have a sandwich shop (and for MSE/diet purposes that the canteen is rubbish!)

Thank you all very much for your kind comments, it's the support from my diary buddies that keeps me on the straight and narrow and I doubt I would have done so well if it wasn't for you guys so a big THANK YOU from the bottom of my ticker. :D

My original target was to have £1,000 saved by the end of the year to go with my bonus towards a F&F on my debts. Unfortunately, because business has downturned and the bonus pot is falling I am not sure that there will be enough funds. That said, if I can carry on putting £250ish away a month I should have around £1,500 at year end which puts me in a much better position. A few years ago if I had £500 in savings I would have been planning what to spend it on, now I am looking at it and planning how to get even more in there! Also, once my payment plan ends, the £245 I pay towards it will go to savings so theoretically I should be able to save about £500+ a month. :)

    Hi Jody,
would it be possible to make F&Fs on some of the debts with what you do have, even if you don't get a great bonus? Even with only the £1500 you're hoping to save, that's about 20% of 7k, and from what I've read on the main board, that isn't an unrealistic figure to start at with debts that are defaulted, and with DCAs?

If you can only clear some of the debts, the others will all get increased payments from your DMP amount, so will be cleared faster as well?

That's something I have just been trying to calulate Jules. The problem is that according to payplan my debt at 1/1/11 will be circa £5,353, £1,926 of that is with Cabot (a DCA) and I have already negeotiated with them previously and I know I can knock them down quite a bit. The other £3,426.93 is with Egg who are notoriously bad for accepting reduced F&F's, I think I may be lucky to get 10% off as they seem to prefer to wait and get all of their money :(, I totally understand why they would do that but it doesn't help me right now!

What I might do is pay the Egg one off from whatever bonus/savings I have then make a stupid offer to Cabot, if they don't accept it then they will get all of my DMP payment for a month or two before they will them probably accept it (I hope!)

It's good to see you have returned! :D

Went to the quiz night last night, it was a horrible drive up to the pub as the weather was so bad :(, the pub is quite a way from my home as it's further on from where I work. The Quiz itself was fun although it was geared up towards more 'mature' quizzers :rotfl:, we came 3rd which wasn't bad for our first attempt! We won £4 but rather than try and split it between 6 of us we donated it to Help for Hero's :).

I didn't spend anything there as OH bought me a naughty double cheeseburger as we quickly went to McDonalds and he bought my drinks when we were there, even though I was shouting at him to use my money :o.

Think I will take tomorrow off, that way I will still get 2 days off over the weekend as I am working SUnday night and Monday afternoon.

Hope everyone else has a great day :T
