I like it. The green isn't bright, in fact I think it's quite nice.

The old forum was very poor and very dated. What people need to remember is that humans are creatures of habit and don't like things changing. I remember years ago when eBay updated their forum, loads of people were saying they were leaving and not coming back. Ultimately, they got used to it and stayed. People here won't leave, they'll get used to the new look over time and will soon forget what the old forum looked like.

you're right they do hate it & it is in the way

unfortunately i think your lil play may have been a waste of your time as the MSE Team do not seem intent on improving this to the users liking at all

way way back i had a lil play to [see below] and while not as good as yours because i dont have the skill or photoshop, the box i designed and suggested to be embedded at either the top of the OP before any text or below the signature line, which was liked and commented several times to be a better option also fell on deaf ears

Sorry, really do not like new forum! Was someone on some wacky backy when the psychedelic colour scheme and layout was chosen? PLEASE don't remove the version 1 option, which I'll be switching back to.

When I clicked on the reply button, I had to use a scroll bar to get to the reply box which had disappeared off the screen :undecided.

I prefer the look of this one, much less cluttered. No problems with speed.

One niggle, when you click on reply the text box is way over to the right with a load of dead space on the left. Still prefer this, but I'm not one of those posters that posts dozens of times a day and seems to live on here. Probably more difficult for those members to get used to something new.

The colours seem a bit too bright - I'd personally prefer more muted/pastel shades. Also, maybe it's my imagination but some of the font sizes seem even smaller than before.

The one thing that does disappoint me is having to scroll so far down before the forum threads begin. What with all the news headlines that keep appearing at the top of the page e.g. "new look forums please read this thread" and the huge box with the information reminding us to be nice/polite in a public forum, the page has become longer and longer and there's more stuff to scroll past - admittedly for a few seconds. But still!

Guess I'll get used to the changes soon enough.

The buttons are not that much bigger????? 11x8 pixels bigger actualy.

Just curious, for those complaining they are too big, what screen resolution is your moniter set too?


My only complaint TONE DOWN THE WHITE BACKGROUND!!!


As for speed, the forum seems to have been on a go slow for the past few days so not sure if its anything to do with the new theme being launched :confused

It is still painfully slow - I have super fast broadband and yet this forum takes forever to load.

Some things are good like the multi quote button - so I shall reserve judgement.
