I am not bothered about funding. I hold a full time job so can afford it - and my union offer a contribution anyhow as they are going to benefit.
But I have noticed that some courses I have looked at would now allow me on, as I already hold a dgree, although not in same discipline.0 -

As an OU student are you entitled to an NUS card or something similar, or are we classed as 2nd rate students? Preferably one with some money off at McDonalds would be nice though!......0

Why didn't they let you on? I thought they let anyone do any course, although if it's in the same discipline you may not be able to count the course towards your (second) degree?0

We can now get NUS - OUSA Associate cards(available from http://www.ousa.org.uk)
Although we still aren't classed as full-time students even if we study full-time0 -

who is this question directed at?
The main problem i think is funding a second degree - basically they no longer do.
what would be the point in doing courses similar to what your first degree was in?
Getting on a course to do a second degree was not the issue. Getting funding was the problem (i.e. there was NO funding).0 -
