HIPS scrapped
The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) estimates that there are between 3,000 and 10,000 people whose livelihoods are either directly or indirectly dependent on Hips.
The people doing these HIPs were leeches on society just like letting agents. It's virtually the same job : sit on @rse all day, pick up phone, write down name and address, put form in post, return to picking @rse for a few days til form comes back, type provided details into PC, press print button & put all bits of paper together to make it look pretty, extract £300 from seller, job done, return to picking @rse.
Serves them right for taking on such a non-job in the first place. Typical leftie jobs-for-the-boys.0 -

It's almost as though Mad Maggie was still PM.
it's just you. these people are not entitled to a job for life just because labour passed a stupid piece of legislation, and what's more their job was at best useless and at worst a scam. hips were a drain on people that do useful things for a living.0 -

Do you mind reading the rest of the thread so we all don't just get into a circular argument? Thanks. :whistle:0 -
Don't think Mad Maggie managed to borrow enough to employ around 12 million people either (hang on, the apologista's were claiming an extra million out of work - where's the other £130,000,000,000 gone?).0

She didn`t need to borrow, she just needed to sell everything that was already owned by taxpayers to her right wing cronies.
Lots of dosh to bribe the tory halfwits, without any consideration of the consequences,Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

The only sense of Deja-Vu I am getting is down to the never ending supply of moronic posts, like the first one in this thread.
The coalition government is enacting one of its policies.
HIPS were a solution to a problem that did not exist. A waste of time and a burden on people selling their homes. Totally unnecessary. I am delighted to hear the government have scrapped them."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -

I am sure the irony of you calling someone a halfwit is not lost on people."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

There can be little doubt left now that Thatcher's hatchet has been reprised to wreck terrible havoc on the already fragile UK jobs market. The future certainly looks grim.0
