    3. Abai: Signed up about 6 years ago. Never did 1 job. Incentive now to do 15 has paid off.

    Never say never :D

Now I am maybe getting the wrong end of the stick here... but can I take it this is a similar incentive to the one BARE used to have? :)

Can anyone help with a quick pizza question? I've got one this afternoon which is a 'full service buffet' says to order one £xx.xx pizza/pasta deal, is this the buffet deal where you help yourself? Thanks

Got an email today - I will not be paid as I "modified" my meal - "You ordered your drink without ice. As stated in the paper work you can not modify your meal."

Ow well - guess you win some and lose some :)

    How is everyone else today?

That's a bit harsh! Any of the other MS companies would just have pointed it out and told you to be more careful in future. I still don't understand why people do the burger jobs - they sound very stressful

And yet isn't it strange if you make a purchase on your credit card in a foreign currency it appears on your account immediately? ;)

Sorry for being flippant, I have no idea what the delay is, but I am reminded of the 4 days apparently required to process cheques!

I know! Only when it suits them eh?
Oh my god that is so stupid.

I've read all the comments about doing these jobs and just think, not worth it. If anything it would cut a few seconds off the time. they should be pleased.

Somebody somewhere has to have a little bit of common sense about this. If such flimsy excuses are used to get out of a ms whats the point of doing them.

Are they not aware some people may not want ice, or require something a little different. I don't see the point as your not really getting an accurate picture as the scenario is so rigid when customers just don't act like that. e.g. my bf always asks for a plain burger.

I can see the reasons why and I think it's fair. If it's busy the burger places will have a lot of pre-poured drinks ready to just pick up and give to the customer. So if someone then asks for no ice then it will take them longer to get their order. Minor and very circumstantial I know, but I can see why they do it.

Secondly the programme is a worldwide programme, so they want to compare the results worldwide and changes are generally made everywhere. E.g names are no longer required after a problem in Italy (a shopper got a slap for staring at a womans chest trying to get the name!).

In other news, I always get plain burgers and no ice haha, the timings on those are soooooo slow.

I'll probably get lynched for this... but I don't think anything has actually changed with the GAP burgers, other than being able to pay by card now. I'm sure it said in the orientation (last year) about not modifying your order in any way (e.g. no ice, no relish, etc).

I've always been paid for my jobs and certainly don't always give a glowing report! I also had one where I was given a large meal when I had clearly replied no, just a regular meal. I didn't actually realise until I went to scan my receipt... then thinking back realised my drink did seem bigger than usual!! I explained in the comments box and it was still paid.

I personally find RE to be far pickier than GAP... yeah, the GAP fees are not great, but then again the reports take about 2 minutes so I don't mind squeezing one in where possible! And I take a lot of them on at short notice so more than worth it!

DISCLAIMER: I may still change my mind about them if they reject my pizza report from last weekend ;)

I agree - The fault does lie with me as I did ask for no ice so I am actually not following the brief as stated - but what I do not understand is that it is not the true service received for potential customers as (previous poster) not everyone likes/dislikes the same product.

Surely the reason for MSing is to evaluate the service received, cleanliness of the forecourt, general attitide of their staff, providing the correct items as ordered and not whether or not I wanted ice. Or am I over-doing the MS! lolz

I have not done a pizza assignment so can't help there - sorry!

Think of it from the other side. You're a burger manager and you've just been mystery shopped. The shopper requests no ice in their drink, this means you can't give them the ready made drink that's there, so it takes you say 20 seconds to go and get them a drink with no ice. That 20 seconds then takes you over the "allowed" time limit and you fail the visit. As you've failed you've lost the bonus that you were expecting.

As a manager you did everything you could to plan for the place being busy, but because the shopper didn't follow the brief you lose out. So of course you complain to gyp, and then gyp clarify it with the shopper who confirms and the end result is that gyp have to reshop the restaurant. So who picks up the bill for the reshop?

Mystery shops are a very big deal to the people that work there so it's only fair on them if we give them the best chance to pass everything.

Next to the quote button is a little double speech bubble. Click on all the post you want to quote then "post reply". You can't use quick reply.

Yeh I know that it's very picky but the timings are the key thing with the shops. They want the place to be clean etc but that isn't as important to them as how quick.

But I do totally agree about people being picky. They need to be prepared for that one person (usually me) who asks for a plain burger because that will slow them down. They should be able to cope with it!
