Response from Max this morning. I think we just have to wait and see.

    Hi,

Payments left Helion on the 20th, it can take up to 5 workings days. Please send me an email after these 5 working days if you still have not received anything. On our side it has left so there is little we can see until the possibility of it bouncing back if any small details are wrong.

    Many thanks

    Max

Got an email today - I will not be paid as I "modified" my meal - "You ordered your drink without ice. As stated in the paper work you can not modify your meal."

Ow well - guess you win some and lose some :)

    How is everyone else today?

Oh my god that is so stupid.

I've read all the comments about doing these jobs and just think, not worth it. If anything it would cut a few seconds off the time. they should be pleased.

Somebody somewhere has to have a little bit of common sense about this. If such flimsy excuses are used to get out of a ms whats the point of doing them.

Are they not aware some people may not want ice, or require something a little different. I don't see the point as your not really getting an accurate picture as the scenario is so rigid when customers just don't act like that. e.g. my bf always asks for a plain burger.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

Which company was this with please? I have scanned back a bit but can't find your original post - just want to make sure I know who to avoid!

It's Gyp lolz - this post moves really fast! Misssarahleigh - I don't know how to double quote someone yet but I understand what you mean - some of the assignments I have read are very rigid - also some specifically ask you to use those words in that order - where in normal day you wouldn't speak like that (no one would).

To be honest I have always asked for no ice but it has never been printed on the receipt before lolz - I think something as trivial as ice should not be taken into account - for instance I have lost out on traveling, cost, paper and time -no wonder people get so wound up!

Lesson learned - more aware for the future! I've got a nice big paying job to do tomorrow (big for me as I'm still new but maybe peanuts for some of you!) so looking forward to that and hoping I don't mess it up!!! ;)

Thanks! I must admit I've never seen anything about ice in any of their notes. I don't do the burgers though, was it there? I do think that seems really harsh, even for them. Good luck with your job tomorrow.

Thank you! Just need to make sure I get everything down!

Yes it's a burger (trying to get as much as possible to get my rep up!) It doesn't actually state it in the notes but it does state that you cannot modify your meal (in my opinion modification of the meal would either include or exclude any additional items-save for ice!). Oh well - now I know :)

    How is everyone's day going?

If anyone's up for a bit of time-travelling today (I know you can all do it - it's an MS pre-requisite!) there is a hotel night stay in Hungary and Switzerland on RE for last Saturday night.

    Fastest Finger First! :D
  • The Gyp burgers are getting really silly now. If they want good reports, it's safest just to give them a good report. I know it's not in the spirit of MS'ing but at least you can guarantee getting paid.

does it not occur to the managers that the scenario does not reflect an accurate portrail of a typical customer?

I'll probably get lynched for this... but I don't think anything has actually changed with the GAP burgers, other than being able to pay by card now. I'm sure it said in the orientation (last year) about not modifying your order in any way (e.g. no ice, no relish, etc).

I've always been paid for my jobs and certainly don't always give a glowing report! I also had one where I was given a large meal when I had clearly replied no, just a regular meal. I didn't actually realise until I went to scan my receipt... then thinking back realised my drink did seem bigger than usual!! I explained in the comments box and it was still paid.

I personally find RE to be far pickier than GAP... yeah, the GAP fees are not great, but then again the reports take about 2 minutes so I don't mind squeezing one in where possible! And I take a lot of them on at short notice so more than worth it!

DISCLAIMER: I may still change my mind about them if they reject my pizza report from last weekend ;)
