I believe invision plus is down completely hence why the office is down. I don't think it's an individual problem.

Yeh I know! I wonder why they stick with them. Hope it's fixed soon anyway, I don't have any other contact with the regulars on there.

I'm new to GFK. Have picked up a visit but want to change the time. Is this possible? If so, can someone tell me how. Regards,

Go into Scheduled Visits and click on the RHS arrow against the job. This will take you into the front page of the job details and right down the bottom underneath briefingnotes/test, coversheet & questionnaire, enter results there is an option Rescedule. Click on that and follow the instructions from there.

I firmly believe that they know when the MSer is coming, not sure how though.

I work in retail. I know which company mystery shop us and I can go on their site and see between which dates the shop will be and what the scenario is. I have been honest about who I work for so obviously cannot do the shops but, as I say, can see all the details.

And, and I think that is just one of the ways the burger joints find out.

For every 'crazy customer' that won't respond to a friendly conversation there will be at least five that will. Likewise for every savvy customer there will be probably ten that aren't!

Retail companies spend millions on research into proven sales techniques and some of the techniques and proceedures they ask you to adopt may sound ridiculous and long winded but they have shown to work. If they didn't they wouldn't spend money on training. Their staff that embrace it will end up selling more and progressing through to a more lucrative salary and career prospects.

Personally I would would much rather be approached by an assistant who is open to conversation and interested in serving me that someone who can't be arsed. I often forget I have loyalty card (there are so many of them in my bag) so am pleased when I am reminded.

A sales assistant shouldn't feel ridiculous or embarrased about approaching a customer with a friendly comment and suggesting extra items. I rather think it's customers that should be more receptive and pleasant. Some people are just so rude and they may find it intrusive but I reckon the majority of us appreciate good service and helpful staff.

If none of the sales techniques worked then they wouldn't bother with the training and research....and then we MSers wouldn't have a job either! :rotfl:

I love my job and, being a person who rarely stops talking, I love chatting to customers. I do not see why going up to a customer and saying "hi, can I help" or "Hi, do you need any help" is wrong. To go up to a customer who is obviously looking round for a particular item and saying "isn't it nice today" just seems silly. What if the person doesn't like hot weather? Why start a conversation about the weather and then have to somehow get on to finding out what they are after? It just doesn't seem natural and then you will come across as false.

Also with the loyalty card, what is wrong with "do you have a loyalty card?" That's what they say in other shops.

You say they are sales techniques that work but just because you keep getting a customer to agree - yes it's nice and sunny (if of course they do think that), yes the tennis is good, etc etc does not mean they are going to buy. I know that does not and would not work on me and people I have asked say it would not work on them either.

I find quite a lot of customers don't want to talk at all, quite a few are on their phones during the whole transaction, a lot are in a hurry (maybe on their lunch break or have to get back to their cars because their parking is about to run out etc etc) and they definitely would not want some waste of time conversation about the weather.

I find it easier to ask if they need help then tailor the conversation to what they are looking for and then, if they are friendly and chatty talking more generally.

Yes it is - don't think I am allowed to say which one am I?
