I feel violated too now that I have read the thread - bought a packet in Sainsburys for £1.12 just in case I fancied doing some Christmas baking this weekend. Needless to say I do not now! :o

If I need a bigger pack of something I always check the shelf prices for the smaller item, and do a rough calculation, or look onto the small print of the price ticket which usually has something like "£--- per 100ml" and see which of the 2 shows as cheaper.

Trying to keep track of all these price changes and offers can be difficult.
Thank god for 'mysupermarket' to have a read of before going out.

not really groceries but was in Asda today and thought i'd pick up an everyday dinner set so nothing fancy, if i'd bought the full boxed set of 4 side plates, 4 bowls and 4 dinner plates it would have cost £22 but i bought the individual sets i.e set 4x dinner plates, set 4 bowls etc and worked out at £15, you cant even blame the difference on packaging as the individual sets were boxed too. £7 difference is what you would call a major rip-off in my book

I often spot these none bargains, they do think we are stupid and many people do just bung whatever in the trolley and never notice they are being ripped off.

I went into Morrisons today, spotted a young lad who looked like he was doing reductions on pineapples (had his back to me).

But when I went over he wasn't reducing the pineapples, he was cutting them in half. When whole they were £1 each, but after he cut them in half, wrapped them in cling film he put a £1.29 sticker on each half.

So on one side of the F&V section you can buy a whole pineapple for £1, and on the other side you can buy half of the pineapple for £1.29.
  • Already have a vanquis card with its associated high interest rate and had been paying it off fine.
But on reading something on here about doing a balance transfer I thought I'd give it a go.
I do not know how much they have given me, but I will hopefully receive the card in next 5 days or so. It said I was pre approved.
But even with 0% BT with2.9% fee it will be less to pay each month, so that I can lower the interest bearing one down quicker. I did make sure that I was on register of electors via on line before I did it though. Apparently the BT takes around 60 days or so.

4 pack dole fruit in jelly £2.23 and single pots 49p so works out at 1.96 for for - do not think I am gonna pay 25 pence to have to recycle a piece of cardboard from the 4 pack

  • Spotted last week. Decaf gold inst coffee 100g jar = £1.49 but 200g jar = £3.19 so £2.98 buying two smaller ones or 21p more buying what should be better deal? Not brain science but Tesco does like to fool you. Oh it is their own make and currently is price dropped.
