Mycitydeal are a disgrace, this is the 2nd time they've done this.

Be interested to hear their response.

Am I correct in thinking that those who use the voucher also have to pay £4 delivery, even though it says FREE DELIVERY on the sunglasses-shop website.

I used mycitydeal for the Wagamama, Cineworld and Streetcar offers and was happy but after this I'm pi**ed off

I just phoned mycitydeal and spoke to Andre, he said that unfortunately they dont have any control over what the retailer does, and sometimes if they sell too many etc they realise they'll loose too much money and pull the promotion or increase the prices etc.

He said his sales team will speak to the sunglasses shop but basically dont expect much.

He did offer a refund of the £17.50 though which was good of them. I said I'll assess whether its still a good deal and get back to them if I want the refund.

In fairness, it did say that you'd have to pay £4 postage in the terms of the voucher before you bought it.

The £4 delivery charge was clearly displayed as part of the deal though, so I'm not too annoyed about that, but my sunglasses went up around £6 today, I'll be complaining, considering we purchased the voucher on the assumption we'd be getting the sunglasses at the advertised price.

Anyone else noticed that the sunglasses have all gone up in price today
MyCityDeal and Sunglasses-Shop should be avoided with these tactics.

This has happened on another deal from mycitydeals as well, the Dermalogica deal, prices and delivery went up after deal ended and also there is min spend which was not citied when buying voucher

I am unable to use my voucher code. The first time I tried it worked fine, but discount didnt come off at checkout, so I did it again but it tells me that my voucher has been used and now that there are too many failed attempts.

We have had too many failed attempts from your IP address. Please email support@sunglassesshop.com with your IP address of xxxxx.128 and your voucher number.

My email to them, I also copied in a couple of moneysavingexpert email addresses.

    Hi,

I bought this voucher from mycitydeal yesterday, after reviewing the sunglasses shop website and evaluating the deal. I decided that it was worthwhile, based on the Ray Ban Aviators that I wanted costing £88. At 10am this morning, as soon as the voucher became active the prices on the sunglasses shop website increased, to £94 for these particular Aviators.

This is completely unacceptable and extremely underhand.

If you hope that anyone who bought a voucher is ever going to use mycitydeal or sunglasses shop again after tactics like this then you've got a problem. I'll also remind you that most people who know of this, and other deals find out through the moneysavingexpert, and I'm sure they will not support your companies with approaches like this.

I have copied all parties in for interest.

Please contact me asap to resolve.

    Regards

I have sent an email too.

    Dear Sirs

I have recently received the discount voucher as advertised on Moneysavingexpert.com.

I find it extremely unacceptable business practise that as soon as the voucher could be activated you increased the prices of the sunglasses on your website. I would like an explanation as this appears to be nothing more than a scam. Can you please also explain why you are charging voucher holders £4 delivery charge when usually delivery is free?

I have been a customer and previously bought sunglasses on your website and at your shop in Southend and had always recommended you to my friends.

I would like to give you the opportunity of resolving this matter asap before I take any further action which will include informing trading standards.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yeah, same happened to me. Emailed them at 10:15. Still havent heard anything back. How long has it taken for them to get back to others? And has anyone emailed after 10:15 and already recieved a reply? This whole thing is really shoddy.

I have yet to receive a reply, emailed around the same time as you did.

Placed my order at 07.45 this morning and ordered my Oakleys at the price they were showing yesterday. Very sneaky of them to increase the prices though later in the morning.
