You need to look for 'mycitydeal' on Topcashback, not sunglasses shop

"Deal accepted, waiting for the necessary number of customers." That wasn't mentioned.

I can see what's going to happen here is there isn't going to be enough customers and I'll then be stuck with a £18 voucher I can't use. And this was on the moneysavingexpert official email.

Also, the retailer doesn't seem to be supported at http://www.topcashback.co.uk/search/merchants/?search=sunglasses

Please read my post, on topcashback look for MYCITYDEAL, not SUNGLASSES SHOP. You get cashback by buying a deal from mycitydeal.co.uk.

Also, you'll only get charged if there is enough customers, otherwise they won't take a penny from you. I used them 3 times without an issues.

    Hope this helps

Anyone else noticed that the sunglasses have all gone up in price today
MyCityDeal and Sunglasses-Shop should be avoided with these tactics.

Yes, They're bang out of order.
I went to order some Oakleys first thing this morning. They were £93.50 and with discount £43.50. They are now £99.00. There was a problem with the currency as the sunglasses were in $ and the discount in £ therefore giving me a checkout price of $119.00 when it should have been £43.50 including the £50 discount. But it was trying to charge me £73.50 ?.
For some reason I lost the glasses from my checkout and then when I went back in the Voucher had expired !.
They've reset it and now all the prices have gone up.
    NOT HAPPY !

I just found this thread after the ray bans I was after went from £88 to £94.

I just told them it was unacceptable on the chat function and was told to email support@sunglasses.com. I'll also be copying in support@mycitydeal.co.uk

I'll do this now. I suggest you all do the same, making it clear that any goodwill they hoped to generate from the promotion is rapidly sinking away!
  • I agree. just went back on the site after getting my voucher and i'm extremely unimpressed. very poor PR game.

I will be writing to them both.

My email to them, I also copied in a couple of moneysavingexpert email addresses.

    Hi,

I bought this voucher from mycitydeal yesterday, after reviewing the sunglasses shop website and evaluating the deal. I decided that it was worthwhile, based on the Ray Ban Aviators that I wanted costing £88. At 10am this morning, as soon as the voucher became active the prices on the sunglasses shop website increased, to £94 for these particular Aviators.

This is completely unacceptable and extremely underhand.

If you hope that anyone who bought a voucher is ever going to use mycitydeal or sunglasses shop again after tactics like this then you've got a problem. I'll also remind you that most people who know of this, and other deals find out through the moneysavingexpert, and I'm sure they will not support your companies with approaches like this.

I have copied all parties in for interest.

Please contact me asap to resolve.

    Regards

I've just copied and pasted your email for my selected glasses and emailed the appropriate parties. Thanks
