I can only dry my clothes by using the heaters otherwise I wouldn't have them on
The laundrettes isn't too bad, what I would normally do is put all my 10ps in a pot and use them to pay for the drier there. Probably about £1 for a full load in the dryer. Usually I would dry the clothes about 95% and then just air them when I got home. This year I don't have time or the change  Maybe you could try this - great tip is to line a suitcase (the ones with wheels on are excellent for this) with a bin bag to put in your WET washing, when you've emptied the suitcase out at the laundrette you can fold up the bag and use it next time then pack your dry washing into a DRY suitcaseSaves trying to carry binbags of washing there

I got plastic sheets/mattress protectors from my 99p shop for both mine and my little boys bed, they make the bed really warm (stick them under a fitted sheet). They don't work very well with flat sheets though as they tend to slide offBank of Mum £10,786.00

As mad as it sounds, the way to solve this is to open the windows in the room that the clothes are in. If its a room you use, put them open a crack. The idea is to let the air circulate and not get all humid.
Should solve mould, condensation etc problems. You might need to change where you hang up your clothes - think about getting some airers that go over the bath, and shut the door when the window is open for the day time. When you need to have a bath/shower, just take the airer off the bath and shut the window temporarily.0 -

Also, new tip, I am staying at my OH's flat most weekends, free heating and hot water!
Lucky you, Imelda, my OH loves the cold and I'm dreading spending any time at his house in the winter. I'm there with gloves, scarf, hat, thousends of jumpers and he wants to turn the heating down because he's cold.
Only nice thing is his warm duvet...:blushing:He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

I nearly gave in last night and put the heating on but i didnt, kids just put on their slippers got there hot water bottles and all the fleecy blankets are now in the living room, close at hand for when we need them.
Must admit got up in the night to go to bathroom it was bl""dy freezing!!! I am trying to last just a couple more weeks, i will be really happy if i can last with no heating until Nov??????
The baking in the evening idea is great, i will try that one thanks.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Well I still haven't put my central heating on yet and I have just had a new boiler fitted .But I am trying to keep it off as long as I can as a pensioner I have to think about the bills .I have a nice warm blanket that I put over my knees when it gets chilly and if it gets really cold I can go to bed and watch the t.v. in my bedroom. I make a flask of coffee so I can have a drink whilst I am there. If I can last out until the end of this month without the heating going on it will make the January bills a bit lighter I hope0

JackiO - I love your pic and sig!
Mirry - I also want an oil heater (never had one) which I will put in the living room as I think this will stave off having to put the central heating on quite as much - I'd be interested in anyone's ideas of which is the nest model and where to buy one cheapest...MFW #185
