  • Hmmph my joined on neighbours go to India every winter....no chance of pinching their heat! When it was snowy all the houses had part melted snow on the roof, apart from next door with a thick layer !

I shall be at work on Sunday so nice and warm for me (in a hospital) however that means I'm not here to ensure the thermostat stays down nice and low ..... DH likes to be WARM !!

Maybe I should encourage DH to go out as I don't think the teens know how to work the heating yet !! Hee hee :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Im very grateful that Im in a 1st flr flat with someone below who always has their heating on and and upstairs to insulate us!

I think the coldest our flat has been is 16 or 17 degrees before xmas first thing in the morning.

No snow in the south please, Im heading towards my due date and dont want to be snowed in when it all kicks off!

unfortunately, the downstairs flat has been empty for some time and upstairs seems to only be there on weekends... you can really notice the difference, compared to last year where both flats were occupied and heated.

Oh crumbs more cold weather. I dont do well in cold weather at all.

Upstairs seems to be living at his girlfriends lately and next door i think have done a bunk so there's no heating anywhere except the flat that backs on to us but there is no radiators on the adjoining wall! so we are going to either have ours on or freeze to death quite frankly. Plus our flat is single glazed and my lovely step son ruined half the plastic insulation stuff I put up by sticking a pen through it so i've had to take that down too - not impressed so we really are single glazed and open to the elements       .

Thankfully i brought both the boys a fleece each for christmas and they have pyjamas so they can wear those for bed on saturday night and have the fleeces. My Ben has two fleeces so think i will put one under the bottom sheet and one over the top of his duvet to make sure hes snuggly warm - if hes too cold he will jsut sneak in with us - plus he has about 3 teddys in bed with him most nights so im sure they insulate him nicely.

thinking that I may see if i can some way pin some bed spreads i have inside the living room curtains t help insulate it a bit better because it gets so cold in here its ridiculous and i can feel the draught on my legs now as im sat at the computer and im in combat trousers!

Fingers crossed sunday i should be ok as im in work and am kept busy stocking shelves and wandering round the shop so i should be ok but think Saturday i will be off out to get little one some more gloves and find myself some pyjamas and maybe some more fleece blankets! The dog even has a fleece lined jacket so if it gets that cold then ill be putting that on him too

not looking forward to this cold snap - global warming my foot!

keep safe, well and warm all! am off to find the hot water bottles and possibly mae the dog a rice bag.

    love

    Have you got bubble wrap.
Spray the single glazed windows with water in a mist sprayer, then put the bubble wrap on, bubble side facing outwards, cut to size.
It really does make a big difference.

It's feeling quite warm here today -- haven't needed to kick the heating back on since it went off at 8:30am yet, which is quite unusual  (And this despite the gritters being out last night and 'showering' my dalmatian!!)

I'm out most of tomorrow (when I believe it's meant to be cold for us) - but DS will be at home, so will have to make a judgement call around 9:15am as to whether I leave the heating on for him or not...... he doesn't know how to over-ride the timer, and I've no intention of showing him either ;)

Whatever I haven't got now in we will just do without until asda comes to visit me on wed.
