I just wanted to thank people on this thread, I had a lovely evening last night reading it.
Today, I went to Ikea and picked up really cheap fleece throws at £2.53 per each window in my house. I've pinned them into place between the window and the curtains with quilting safety pins (as I just happen to have them). We can definately notice the difference in room temperature, and we can now turn off the heater in the bedroom and hallway, leaving only one storage heater on in the living room.
THANK YOU!!0 -
I reckon wood, oil and coal averges £50 a month adn i pay £15 a month electric but thats a bit high, I reckon it to be about £12 what I;m using."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

My coal is between £20-£25 a week and elect £10 a week. But this house is warm and cosy apart from the 2 rooms at the back (north) . And constant boiling hot water.0

I think the coldest our flat has been is 16 or 17 degrees before xmas first thing in the morning.
